Superb shots of SM845. Great to see her outside and hats off to the restoration team.
Looking forward to being part of the new era. Hopefully make more than one ‘ANH working bee next year.
Thanks, Roobarb and Black Knight. I will make enquiries to join.
I googled the Radial Nine mob and noted they are a supporters club for ARCo. It was only a quick google but I didn’t see anything obvious on the ARCo website either. How does one join?
And “Dusty” Millers!
Some of my favourites:
Sir Denis “Splinters” Smallwood DSO DFC etc
Charles “Moth” Eaton OBE AFC
Adrian “Tim” Goldsmith DFC DFM (never have worked out why his nickname was “Tim”)
Don’t know about 20 years ago although that might be about when it was recovered but the former USAAF A-20 “Big Nig” was recovered as part of the RAAF’s Boston rebuild project. The end result was two well restored aircraft – “Jessica” and “Hell’n Pelican II” (or something like that).
The last I heard “Big Nig” was under restoration at Precision in Wangaratta and was destined for the RAFM.

Graeme has worked out the pricing. If you order before the end of October, you can buy a copy for A$75 plus p&p. After October, the price will be A$88 plus p&p. Graeme has been very conscious to keep it affordable. Considering the content and quality it is a bargain.
Still not sure where/when it will be available in stores (will appear in SA in due course naturally) but if you want to order direct from Graeme he’s also working on an affordable postage solution.

Clever, clever people. Congratulations!
Some wonderful history there. Fascinating stuff.
Reading this thread has brought a lump to my throat. So many fine memories of a truly great man. RIP.
I discovered KW ‘late’ i.e. through Steve Hatton’s wonderful Into The Wind. My outstanding memory (need to watch it again in his honour) was of a sprightly chap with a twinkle in his eye living a life that people a quarter of his age would marvel at.
Kevin Mears, I hadn’t made the connection until Moggy put that photo of KW and your book up. Love your work.
Congratulations, it looks like a cracker. Love the title and the subject matter and it’s an attractive looking book. You must be very proud of his achievements.
Ridiculously impressive, mate. Well done.
I’m in, chaps, as you know.
A very exciting and promising initiative.
Love the detail on the fabric-covered aircraft/components. Thanks, Cornishairforce, my favourite airfield in the UK.
Off to a good start there, Sideslip! Love seeing OW images.
