PP972 is (was) owned by Flying A Services, not RX168. Flying A would I very much doubt sell anything at a loss it’s run by a gentleman who has had a very good grounding in how to make money out of Warbirds.
Exactly Y11F. People – why make critical remarks about warbird owners/operators. What is the point 🙁
A certain Hawk 75 and P39 “Brooklyn Bum” should leave Chino before the 18th of this month destined for Legends.
Hello VRA, is this official information from TFC or Fighter Rebuilders or the people doing the Hawk?
Kermit has one of the Prototypes I believe, but it certainly isn’t airworthy.
The ex Skyfame machine from the Duxford auction of 198? I had a close look at it a year ago – all very complete and original but with a depressing air of neglect – the ideal restoration candidate!
First class display by JJ at Old warden last Sunday. Completely agree with Willow’s comments (welcome back bty) and particularly the way the aircraft was presented to the crowd. I am no photographer but I can appreciate how this kind of display maximises the opportunity to take good topside shots.
Also very nice indeed to see more authentic touches on this aircraft such as the guns/ammo, drop tank mounts and aerial 🙂
Yes that is quite correct Archer.
Nice pitot cover on the FM-2. Anyone for tennis?
Melvyn, Is that your vote for proportional representation?
Thanks Eddie 😀
Hey Dan 🙂
Nah – the people that painted it obviously had no clue what they were doing 😀 😀 😀
Very good website, thanks Graeme. Did any wings survive at Poona anyone know?
Steady on chaps!
No need to get cross with each other. The simple fact is that the airshow promoters are asking for invasion striped aircraft at the moment and simple market forces dictate the response. These aeroplanes are hideously expensive to operate and if a certain paint scheme enhancement is required in order to obtain bookings the operators will, quite rightly, oblige, to ensure their aircraft is not stuck in the hangar but out in front of the public reminding us all of what this is all about 🙂
[QUOTE=Aeroplanepix]Legends is always a cracking world-class show
Say no more, this has been proven year in and year out regardless of what aircraft attend. I love a surprise coupled with some old favourites and perhaps some aircraft only seen in Europe. Legends has served this up time and time again and we can only congratulate TFC for their tireless efforts to keep up and improve on their high standards with each successive event.
I’m gonna do the whole weekend! Get there friday, go to show saturday and sunday, drive home sunday night. hmmmm…. 😉 😉 😉
Even better 🙂
Once they’ve got your money at the gate, they can make all the excuses they want about want HASN’T turned up!!!
Well Albert you have three choices:
1. Be among the first to see the extraordinary and unique line up of warbirds (yes – weather and servicability permitting) by coming on the Saturday.
2. Wait and see what is posted here on the Saturday evening and decide if you want to come on the Sunday and be in the second batch of people to see these amazing aircraft.
3.Don’t bother coming at all.
I hope you go for option 1 – I will be 🙂
Jordanian Falcons (extra 300).
At Legends 😮 I don’t think so!
