Nice work! How large is your drawing (100Mb++)? And what software do you use?
You must have a 3D drawing as well with this as a projection?
Mike
2D .DXF files are never very large – even for complex drawings – prob only a couple of meg or so….
fascinating stuff – it always amazes me how time seems somehow distorted in those immediate post-war years. The announcer said, with hint of amazement, that there are still people who actually remember those dark days in 1940! Thats like talking about the Gulf War of 1991 today!
Ardmore NZ or Vancouver Mosquito to fly first.
Very close – what one seems to lack, the other has (engines for one thing!) and even then the Jens machine has them waiting to be fitted. It looks like they could fly within weeks of each other but I would bet on the Avspecs machine if I had to go one way or the other! They are both beautiful aircraft ๐

or is it just me?
See what you mean! ๐

The airframe and engine(s) are stored with their owner in the US.
Sorry – my previous post was confusing – when i said ‘but no more’, I meant the project had not advanced beyond planning stage so far.
Any idea when it was. From the cars im guessing mid 60s
She arrived in the UK in 1965. I think the last flight (up to Blackpool) was in 1970.
Indeed – by ‘push the button’ they are referring to physically commencing the work, which will obviously prevent the aircraft carrying out its current taxiing role – so its quite understandable that in order to minimise the ‘down-time’ between being a ‘taxiing exhibit’ and an airworthy display aircraft they are trying to get as much in place as possible, whether its spares, overhauled engines or AP’s. They are all needed and some are difficult and time consuming to obtain (let alone expensive). So while this preparatory is undertaken in the background she can continue in her current role.
Isn’t the ground footage of the Lancaster shot at Lavenham?
I believe so Chris.
I don’t know if anyone has heard off it but I own a book called story of a Lanc from 1974?
I suspect lots of people have ‘heard’ of the book and read it too as its been re-published several times since the 70’s…. I think I have a few different versions of it.
Werenยดt Meier working on putting a Jumo into one of the new build long nose AC too?
That was a concept under discussion, but no more.
– but if not, at least I was fortunate enough to see them daily when in service…

How old are you ๐ฎ
Is her current scheme the longest one she has retained in recent decades?
What’s wrong with (new build) Yak-3’s with Allison engines ?
Nothing.
1988?
