Is that Mike Russell in the jeans ? A nice man amd well remember Britannia Airways letting him bring a brand new Boeing 737-204 G-BADP to a Duxford Show 1973 ?
You can follow their journey here http://www.rimowa-in-the-air.com/northamerica/logbuch/
My father flew a Tutor with the Clevelands Gliding Club at RAF Leeming 1958-61. I remember seeing the fuselage badly damaged after spinning in off a winch launch (do not know what happened to the pilot) perhaps this came off the remains.

With thanks to Roger Lindsays “Cold War Shield” excellent book.
My thoughts are glider tyres ? or the De Haviland Moth Club might help .
Agree a very good performance despite the awful weather . Why was Prince William constantly fiddling with his collar button ? was it the old stud type collar ? Kate should have worn a coat and the Queen looked cold at times. Really missed the Swordfish and RN helicopter flypasts, lets hope the weather plays fair for Tuesdays flypast.
The collective name for a group of Chipmunks is a ” scurry”.
44-83735 is the serial of the B-17G which became F-BDRS hence “Mary Alice ” at Duxford. Would have liked to see a 305,306 or 92ndBG machine identity, but well done on the fresh paint and restore.

Pretty certain this is PB475 of No.582 Sqdn from Little Staughton . It was returning from Chemnitz on 5/6.3.45(note date) when a hung up target indicator ignited in the bomb bay . Records state it came down near Bellingdon at 01.00hrs, sadly six of the crew were killed only the rear gunner survived by bailing out.It was coded “60:C”.

Thanks Jason for explaining about the tower. I would have been disappointed to drive a round trip of 80 miles to find it closed with petrol costs. Not knocking the tower staff but a golden opportunity missed with the other event.
