I don’t attend Remembrance parades but I like many others don’t forget. Not a day goes by without me reading a book on the RAF Bomber Command,USAAF Eighth Air Force from my study,so at least they are remembered.

Thank you very much for replying and impressions on flying the 6. Are the ailerons heavy ? and do you get a marked nose down attitude lowering flap ? Sounds a real clean machine trying to reduce speed !
I understand the Heathrow visit was denied a landing slot. Lets hope for better days in 2009. How are you guys staying current after she goes in for maintenance later this month ?

Model Aircraft Monthly Oct/Nov 2006 covered the Westland Whirlwind in the Suez crisis. Speak to SAM Publications at Bedford or google their web site.

The benchmark book the classic “Mighty Eighth” by Roger Freeman. Mine is well thumbed since 1976. Excellent colour side plates at the end of the book.

The 64th TCG was based at Rome-Ciampino and presume flight was a med evac back to the UK ? The French article suggests Istres as the point of departure so it would be Lyon ,France.

Yes, excellent film why was the B-47 never in the forefront , the B-52 seems to get the limelight . I suppose Cold War secrecy kept it hidden from public awareness.
