Many thanks for the reply’s My concern was flat-spots which causes sidewall cracking and also long term U.V damage. The BAC Lightning tyres are filled with Nitrogen ?
With all due credit to David Burke for saving the airframes, unless you have a lot of support and get the airframes under cover ,the English weather and time will take it’s toll on aircraft in the open. I do have a vested interest cause my late father flew the JP T.4 XP568 in 1966/7 in it’s Cranwell days.
For an aviator to visit Long Marston it’s far too sad on the eye, the collection is long past it and for those who think it can happen ,get real !
Preservation ? it’s appalling to see the vandalised and defaced Sea Prince on the gate. The whole place is an eyesore, give what’s left to a museum that can use the spares.
Yes, it seems the Canberra was prone to aquaplaning. I don’t know if this was due to its mass and maybe thread /diameter of the tyres. Perhaps ex Canberra pilots can confirm ??

They used Bassingbourn Canberra’s for “Billion Dollar Brain” but nobody except those there,seems to know which.

The Lockheed T-33A “536” behind the Jet Provost is 70536 of the 48thTFW Lakenheath. It was sold to the Saudi Arabian AF 4.60 as “1506”.
The Hunter is an F.6 XG238 of No 92 Squadron. It crashed into the sea off Cyprus 5.5.61 so not sure about the date of the BoB show could it have been earlier as the T-33 was sold in 1960.
My reckoning is September 1959 ?

The Auster G-AIPR is a J/4 owned at the time by the Yorkshire Flying Club at Yeadon. The Piper in the background is Tri-Pacer 150 G-ARBU which crashed in the Leiza Navarre Mountains in Spain 19.5.68.
Although i mistook the airfield (too little time as i was on shifts) i have found a couple of photos of the 231 OCU Canberra’s aerobatic team in a copy of Aircraft Illustrated for July 1979. The pictures were taken in July 1956 and the serials were WH841,WH844,WE195 and WH843. The earlier serials i quoted were for a team in the sixties.

Hangars look to be “C” type pre-war expansion scheme so should narrow it down.
I would say the Canberra’s are T.4’s from 231 OCU Bassingbourn which had an aerobatic team of serials WJ637,WH920,WJ714 and WH641/A.
Still working on the location. The main runway looks to be surrounded by FIDO pipes ??
