Well, since our lanc is going to be flying around in the UK, I think we should be allowed to fly the Typhoon. Seems fair to me.
Here is another project I only recently discovered: Bf 109e. It looks like a new build replica.

Well, I believe another Typhoon has landed in Cosford in its place..no? 🙂

I know it is still a big work in progress, but totally look forward to the ‘Eagles over Europe’ volumes making it to print.
Oh god here we go :D. Perhaps you’re right I tend to personally think of the Battle of Britain as Adlertag and beyond. Yellow tactical markings etc from the Luftwaffe point of view. With regards to Mölders Bf109s watch this space as they have all been chronicled from September 1939 right the way thru to the end of 1940 as ultra accurate 5 view profiles for the Eagles Over Europe project. 🙂
Nice, while the outside has clearly been repainted and cleaned up….the interior engine compartment still looks pretty original. Does the same hold true for all the interior and cockpit?
Is that for real, underground factories still exist?
Is there someone working the underground factories again?
There were a load of those around about 10 yrs ago, before the factories in the east were sealed up.

Assuredly it is a part werkno, I can find no wkno blocks that would encompass that number.
I would say it is not likely a werkno of the plane itself, probably just a werkno of the part. Nice find. I havent seen one of those in several years, seen available about 5 or 6 in the last several months.

Great pics….love the flying boats.
Canadian here, so am certainly proud of the work that went into the Arrow. I personally am of the opinion it probably would have been one of the best (if not the best) high speed interceptors at that time. Not taking into account radars and such…which of course are an important piece of the picture.
But I also think that….by the time it would have been making it to squadron use…say early ’70’s it was too big, not multirole and flexible as the next gen of aircraft were becoming. From a functionality and strategic necessity perspective it may not have been the wrong decision to axe the program…but from the devastation it did to our aviation (in particular) and high technology (in general) industries, the fallout IMO has never 100% recovered. It should have been built and a small/reduced run completed to preserve the industry and development begun on the next plane.

I have said book and will check the NASM classifications there-in. And these arent specific to NASM, but an international museum standard as i read it.
I’m away from my copy at the moment but I think that Robert C. Mikesh set out to describe various category of airframes in his book Restoring Museum Aircraft.

Any one with a copy to hand prepared to look up the section?

“There is no real attempt to pass off the dataplate restorations as anything other than new-build aircraft complying with lunatic regulations from those in charge of aviation control / discouragement. It’s always nce though when at least some part of the aircraft other than the plate are incorporated.”
Not sure I entirely agree with this statement. I tend to think most owners of these rebuilds go out of their way argue that it is a restoration, as opposed to an aircraft 95+% new. The reason is a ‘replica’, regardless of how closely made to drawings will not have the $$$ value of a ‘restoration’ with some provenance (no matter how small). Even if the two airframes were made by the same company, side by side, and finished on the same day, and identical except for one has a datatag and maybe a few original bolts, the ‘restoraton’ will have a much higher value.
And i realize rules are different in UK and in north america…where authentic replica’s can fly.
