Hear hear, one of the most thoughtful and erudite members of this forum sums up his opinion, which I agree with, in a calm and considered manner. Debate/discussion at its best.

Lazy Sunday….

Star Trek (the recent “new” version) followed via a diversion to the kitchen for a fried egg sandwhich, by “the A-team”… which rocks…..

Then, while not a film I admit, the latest episode of “Boardwalk Empire” which is a very decent bit of TV.

it’s Ok now Lincoln, thanks that was, what August last year. All sorted now, divorce through, kids far more settled, new lady in my life, work is a pig but it pays the bills, so all in all…… yeah, not bad as I ease into my late 40’s !

My day has been made by the Government doing yet ANOTHER “U” turn over the selling off of our Forests and Woods, thanks to all who voted on 38 degrees site.

it is good news, but is there not some credit to be given to the “here is an idea ?” then the “Oh, bad idea lets bin it then” notion?

It is a no win situation, if he drive it through like the last lot did on many policies, and Governments have in the past they are damned, if they listen and back off (and yes, coalition looking at unpopular policy and votes equation…) they still take some flak.

You cannot say this without further explanation!!!!!!

Simples…

wife moving out, at risk at work etc. Trying to do everything at once, buy new stuff, (sofa, bed, kettle, everything….) while ex Mrs wasn’t doing anything towards the move, tried also to tie up a decorator to be in the day she moved out etc etc….

local store being refitted, had long list of stuff to buy, for some obscure reason couldn’t find the cheese grater department. Just flipped, pushed my trolley down the isle as fast as I could :o, “what kind of carp shop has no graters” etc etc, tried to storm out, exit moved in refurb, red faced, panic attack, over barrier, pushed security guard aside and got out. :(:o

it all just got a bit too much…. what can I say.

and I now own a shiney new grater as well 😀

To paraphrase the late, great Brian Hanrahan I got myself into this mess, I’ll get myself out.

I’m ok, just being hard on myself I think. Tomorrow is another day which will almost certainly bring a new, exciting and thrilling round of challenges I never expected.

You know what they say about when the going gets tough? Well, you’ll find me cowering in the airing cupboard.

We each our own levels of what we can cope with Kev, personally over the past 18 months I went through a legal dispute with the boss, closely followed my meltdown at home when the Mrs left (and tried to take the children) while being at risk of outsource/redudancy at work. I found that letting off some steam on here helped, professional counselling didn’t – that’s just me. What I also found was that dealing with some issues in smaller chunks helped, and also on occasion not being proud and asking for help. You are obviously a stand up man for helping your father, many wouldn’t, there is no harm or shame in asking for some help. I ended up on a sick note when I had an absolute rage in Sainsburies when I couldn’t find a cheese grater…. long story….

Things now are far better, I still get down when I feel unappreciated by the nippers at times, but you are doing the stand up decent thing with your father, then again you know that as I would bet my mortage that you never even considered any alternative, but stepped up.

Kudos to you sir, but take time for yourself as well.

my “psycho” ring tone when the now ex Mrs BSG-75 rings.
Spurs winning in the Champions League and I am going to the second leg.
This whole new relationship thing which is fun and hassle free.
