Umm, I’m not a lover of Scorsese films, other than “The Aviator”, and this was nothing special. Watched it sat up on a late sleepless night, but its a jumble of flashbacks etc, a real let down.

I’ll not comment on who owns what and where and why, just to say smack my bottom and call me Sally, I never knew about this and if an ex Luftwaffe aircraft with a combat history can turn up, then the Stirling, Beaufort, Manchester etc fans can all see a small hope !

I just hope she can see the light of an (preferably) English day sometime soon.

    Ben,
Get yourself a Gas turbine to play with, plenty of fun and work to be had with one. I’ve learnt a hell of alot while working on them and met alot of great people. There is always something to be done with them, I’ve tig’ed up stands and designed fuel systems for engines and had to solve numerous problems and that’s not to mention how much fun it is running them!! There is alot of satisfaction from running an engine properly too and not just wrecking it! Problem is I now have a great yearning to buy an old soviet jet! Check out this site to see the sort of things that can be done

    Matt

I can vouch for this Ben, a mate had some of the old Rover turbines (used as fire fighting kit on ships IIRC) we took them on a rig to Bruntingthorpe.

Very loud, very portable, and loads of fun. Did I mention “loud” ?:diablo:

…Did you shake him by the hand, wish him luck, and send him on his way with heartfelt words of kindness? :diablo:

    ….I love Karma!

You and Earl Hickey ! – It is justice, he is one of those really political animals, out for himself at any cost, and there is often a cost. 2 years ago, 4 of his 6 direct reports were all signed off with stress, 1 never came back, 1 was off 6 months, the other 2 back in a couple of weeks. HR called in all sorts of consultants but nobody actually nailed him. Now, we get a fresh broom and my word it has swept clean ! Mind you, if I’m outsourced it will be the same, but 12 months pay off, mortgage is insured for a year…. I have a safety net !
