My understanding is that the airframes to be ‘hung’ will be modified in a way that won’t effect the airframe should it ever be brought down. Original parts will be recorded and stored away. A proffessional job mr thinks
The only thing that upsets me about hanging aircraft is that they can’t be brought out in to the sunshine once in a while!:(
…two sides to every story…
Sorry if my post came across a bit harsh. Thank you for your comments, i didn’t realise a Hanger roof fell on the lanc!! (ouch!) 🙁
Brilliant Pictures!
I bet Grandad was absolutly chuffed!!!!
Well done
Having missed this thread originally(sorry!) im very interested to know more about ‘Kermit Weeks’?
From what i can make out this man took a airworthy mosquito and a potentially airworthy Lancaster (which appears now to be in bits, some of it here some in the states) and done nothing with them, are the other significant aircraft he has taken which are never to be seen again?
Cant believe that the Strathalan Lanc was complete until so recently:( Very sad
Daz!
Good piccies chap!
I missed the ‘mentioning’ of the Strathallan Lanc previously, where is this Lanc now? or point me in the direction of the discussion!!!!
🙂

Afterall 5 years as the Brietlings, im sure they deserve it!:) …
and lets face it we have been spoilt…
Carolyn,
Can’t really add anything different to whats been said here already.
A brilliant series and i do hope its gone a long way in keeping your Spitfire in the air. Im sure you will be busy this year with the various D-Day celebrations.
i do hope the feedback at channel 4 has been positive? i wrote them a letter and i know many people here did too!
Warm regards to you and your family
Dez
P.S.
“You have control…”:)
Bradburger,
i just felt that the wording was a bit ‘matter of fact’ !!
Couldn’t comment on the production as i have not watched it…
Dez

Lucky Lucky New Zealanders…
I was given a copy for Christmas,
The last paragraph on the back cover reads
“Though marred by a fatal accident away from the airfield, Flying Legends 2003 will go down as one of the best aviation events in a year that marked the centenary of powered flight.”
Hardly worded respectfully!:(
Shame on you Red Admiral.
Sconner nice gesture from yourself, will be buying my next DVD from you. I had planned to buy Legends from you but never got round to it. As a result i made a contribution to RNHF direct. Keep up the good work.
Superb!
Thank you LAHARVE.

Good question Daz,
Ive only started studying BoB in recent years and i just can’t get over how young some of the pilots were??? They are amazing people.
I don’t think i could ever imagine what it must have felt like. I love reading books (First Light at the moment) and watching the vetrens talk about there experiences.
Bless em all
