    I know two things.

1 It can’t be Hurricane as the direction of rotation is incorrect.

2 Someone will be along shortly with a more positive I.D. 😀

    Really well spoken Propstrike.
    Thank you.
In my experience, people bringing the hardcore “keeping it real” position, tend to bring very little else to the table beyond their complaints.

After retiring from the service, one would then be in a good position to fly for private operators.

    Not really.
Aluminum does not corrode like steel does.
A polished aluminum surface needs very little maintenance to remain corrosion free.
Aluminum in a hangar is in very little danger of corroding.

I think that every extant Yale, with one exception, was on Ernies farm.
The Swordfish currently for sale with Vintage Wings of Canada was purchased at the auction by Bob Spence.

I’ve always heard,in reference to Merlins, “if there’s no oil leakin’ out of it… …it’s ’cause there’s none in it!

Your articles are most enjoyable and getting to read them here is a highlight of the forum.
Much thanks for the link to an excellent article.

I was fortunate enough to meet John Romain on a couple of occasions when he flew at Niagara South.
I think it is pretty safe to say that we won’t be seeing any more 109’s in my neck of the woods any time soon (ever).
The DB-601 had a distinct sound. Very brutish, while the supercharger kind of put me in mind of a really powerful Porsche.

If you ever come across a job like this again, and you run out of curse words, pm me. I’ll send you a few choice Canadian ones.:eagerness:
Sometimes a good curse word is the best tool in the toolbox!

This looks like one of those tail heavy Hurricanes folks have been talking about on the other thread. 🙂
