PS: Please ignore the sock-puppets everyone who reads or wishes to post insightful comments here. Thanks.
They’ve been made to pay $6.5 billion (!) for 36 obsolete F-16C/Ds, remember…
But now with concurrency, they not only have to pay for it (building more and more flawed jets then keep modifying them etc etc.), but also for keeping the existing fleet for 10 more years! Win-win for the corporate complex …
It’s from Paralay’s website, the article about MFI 1.42 here:
http://paralay.com/mfi.html
Excerpt:
In 2003, the RAC “MiG” was another change in leadership, work on the topic MFIs were resumed. Now this project was competitor T-50. According to rumors, the ideology of the machine has changed significantly. Save scheme “duck”, designers abandoned the ventral air intake in favor of the two side. As the power plant apparently planned to use the engine “117S” with a thrust of 15,500 kg and a flat nozzle. Accordingly takeoff weight of new car was supposed to be in class Su-27M and F-22.
Well yes, most of the high end weapon systems in today’s China are based or, or have significant russian assistance (not only the examples above, but also things like HQ-9, HQ-16, the future 001A carriers based on Varyag or maybe Ulyanovsk, other naval systems etc etc.), or in some cases ukrainian (Antonov and perhaps PL-10). Yes it’s likely “J-20 and MiG”, there are rumours of such, plus remember that MiGs submition for the PAK-FA contest in 2003 was a refined MFI with side intakes. The WS-15 is said to be based on R-179-300. Won’t be surprised if the models of most recent chinese aircraft were tested at TsAGI. Also, many modern chinese aircraft are powered by russian engines.
So what all this is saying ? Far from the sinophobe propaganda put forward by some russian outlets (with who knows what agenda), it means the relations between the two countries are much closer than visible, to the mutual advantage of both, as it should be. Russian arms industry and state is getting billions in revenue, and China is getting the weapons it needs to defend itself the quickest and safest way possible, while at the same time continuing improving it’s own know-how and being able to “cut corners” with the help of russian (mainly) technology. Any problem with that?
Are you folks going to let yourselves lured by sock-puppets from that “fading nation” (nice one lol) to derail this NEWS thread again? Ignore them, or at least give’ em both barrels in an appropriate topic, thanks.
Those figures are way off, i assume the F-22 and F-14 figures might refer to fighter size target detection (perhaps 1 sqm for F-22’s APG-77 and 3 or 5 sqm for F-14’s AWG-9?)
Basic Zaslon has a 200km max range, 120km vs fighter size, track 90km. Improved Zaslon-AM might have a max range of 280 or 320km not sure now. The ill-fated MiG-31M should have had a Zaslon-M with 360km range.
The N-011ME Bars may well have a max range of 350km, but for fighter size is 140km (can’t recall track range, 80 or 100km i think). Perhaps Bars-R (Su-30SM) is improving on those figures.
The N-001E have a max range of 140km, 100km vs fighter, 80 km track. The improved recent variants are seemingly improving those figures, with as high as 150km vs. fighter size quoted for the latest N-001VP series (in Su-27SM3 and Su-30M2)
Then of course you have the N-135 Irbis (i swear i saw this designation recently rather than N-035- am i bonkers here ?), with a max range against fighter size target in a narrow beam of 350-400km. In normal operating mode (volume search or whatever it’s called) should be 200km vs the same.
Actually not sure what are we to discuss here, no disrespect.
Except that they don’t weigh anything and don’t support anything, they are MADE to… hence they are MADE to buy F-35, through the corrupt and traitorous politicians in US service. Especially for smaller states like Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark etc, no one in his right mind could say that something like an F-35 is the “right aircraft” for them, the best aircraft for them is Gripen (either you buy twice or more as many with same money easily, or cost 1/3 of the F-35’s cost to operate), or if they really want something stealthier, join together with other european countries and built something like that FS2020 design. European made, european jobs, european owned, that’s what european taxpayer money worth being invested in. Not feeding the horrendous american militaro-industrial complex… 😡 I hope we wake up before it’s too late, we need a **** revolution here.
Good stuff, thanks. Speaking of carrots…

And couple more of 053:

Thanks AMA @ airforce.ru

Nice, where is it from?
Any news about 055, still in ground testing at LII? Thanks.
PS: oh i saw where it’s from.
…That’s according to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in Washington, D.C.
…and i guess everyone should stop reading there. More pathetic sinophobe propaganda and agenda.
Wish we should have our own internet like China does, and completely firewall anything from that damn country. Hell firewall ANY ties with that country, let them be completely isolated, Cuba or NK in reverse, let ’em sort themselves out. Best thing that would happen to the World in recent history. And best thing for us too, imagine how nice it would be to not be bothered by these yankee right-wing warmonger morons and/or sock-puppets, and to have proper and educated discussions between civilized peoples.
:love-struck:

Yet again the “usual suspects” are trying to troll and derail this thread. Strange how they suddenly all piled up after the topic has been opened like they’re on a remote or something. Can’t they just be banned and get this over with ?! 😡
053

Back up now thankfully.
Meanwhile in KnA…
