OOOOO…mamma mia, THAT is gorgeous …plus as QuadroFX pointed in the PAK-FA thread, you can see elements of the OEIS system on the nose ( top and bottom) , and i would guess there must at least another one on the spine and one under the tail boom ( the small bump) imho.

I would stick my uninformed nose in and say that probably they don’t refer to F-35 being flown as UCAV , but maybe some sort of codes/systems that for instance if uncle Sam is not happy with Turkey ( or whatever other country ) , will press a button in Washington marked ” No you ain’t flying today bubba”, also they are probably refer to GPS codes, maybe datalinks and so on.

( i think there was an article in another topic posted recently about Pak F-16 and this code issue, some chap there mentioned something about a bug found in a crashed turkish F-16).

I for one would say Typhoon for Turkey!:D And if they really want to substitute F-35, why not go for PAK-FA ?:diablo:

    Su-35 looks phenomenal.

Interesting that the rear boom has seemingly nothing on it though- I wonder where they moved the RWRs, and also what the status of laser/launch detectors is on the aircraft.

…and also , where are the chaff &flare dispensers now…and wonder if the brake chute is it still at the tip of the boom. ( i would assume the RWR antennas have been moved on the fins).

The cammo looks much better than i expected though (like Su-30M2 it seems ), hope for some side pics sometime.

BTW does anyone has any idea when is the second Su-35S suposed to go up ? Thanks.

According to a poster on another forum , Su-35S-1 flew to Akhtubinsk today , the cammo being aparently similar to the one for Su-27. Can anyone confirm ?

T-50-2 should be up in the air above Gromov FRI in the next few days.

Thanks for the update QuadroFX. Hope all goes well. Do the folks at LII work over the weekend btw ( or at least saturdays)? Thanks.:)

Poster PPV on one of the russian forums says that the first serial Su-35 ( Su-35S-1?) has made 7 flights as of may 12th. Can this be confirmed? Oh and have they painted it yet ? Thanks.

Well, i hope i’ll live long enough to see what is a 6th gen fighter ( if anyone will do it , that is), how does it looks like , what does it bring new, and how can it possibly surpass T-50? :diablo:

YGBSM. I would kinda expected the F-35B to be dropped , but the whole programme ?! Wow . Anyway atm it’s just rumours, although even if i’m no big fan of the yanks, it will be monumentally stupid to drop the whole programme right now. Well they keep talking about this ” Patriot act ” thing of theirs, why they dont go at LM and threaten everyone with treason sentences? That will speed things up and cheapen the aircraft right down.:diablo:

(I actually sort off am talking serious , LM made this F-35 a money blackhole , everything is late, everything is getting more and more expensive, this needs to be changed, that need to be changed…either they swallowed more than they can eat, or something’s wrong with their -LM-leadership and how they understand to do their work , how to do business etc. And imo the aircaft itself has some serious flaws- not necesarilly LM’s fault – primarily insufficient airframe performance, but that is just my opinion, dont want to argue with anyone about it :). It might be a wrong suposition from my part, of course.)

It all depends how heavy the T-50s is …disregarding any speculations from the internet (of course, some of them will be true or very close to it, but we don’t know which ) , hopefully if all goes well maybe we’ll see some sort of “official ” data for the aircraft at MAKS ( like a plate or something in front of it , with dimensions, weights etc).

But yeah, if it all goes down to weight again, i will not at all be surprised if T-50 is quite alot lighter than F-22, f.e. Even the latest Su-35, quite alot bigger than F-22, is not heavier , in fact it seems to be actually slightly lighter …if i’m correct.

If they will manage to squeeze two 17 or 18,000kgf engines in the airframe without significantly affecting the weight and aerodynamics , jesus can you imagine that ?! A TWR of almost 1 at maximum weight! 😮

    Anyway, my 2 cents.
