How about either of these possibilities: given there ALSO seems to be dielectric suggesting paneling at the wing tips, perhaps there, the tailcone (and MAYBE the LEVCONs?) there will be either something like ALR-94, or perhaps the ECM system ?
In each of the wing moveable LEX, you can see in pictures the outline (closer to root) . Related to that, is it me or the LECONs leading edge seems to indicate dielectric paneling as well ?!
Btw there appears to be no confirmation of what will be in the tail sting. Brake chute is further up the sting it’s not at the tip.
PS: Looking at the latest 054 pics there’s clearly a radiation sign on the tail sting radome. So, what is in there after all ?!
Superb shot of Su-30SM bort 55.

So, any idea whether the Su-30SMs engines are more powerful than the basic MKI AL-31FP?
Man oh man…:love-struck:

Finally some nice pics of MiG-35 741 from the static at MAKS (yeah i know i’m obsessed ). What is the ECM pod, MSP-418K (well, it looks identical to it)?

I wouldn’t call the article “bullcrap” – ramping up series production of a completely new type is always a slow and expensive process. But here:
probably a bit unfair to criticise the fact that one of the aircraft was not available – they are test articles, not service aircraft, so you can’t expect 100% reliability. Maybe the powers-that-be could be criticised for expecting that all 4 aircraft would have been available (if there is truth to the idea that that was the original plan)?
That’s not true, and the author was obviously too incompetent to research, there were always THREE T-50s intended to take part in the displays, with one a spare (for most days, 053). Only in the last day only 2 flew likely because of the foul weather. (and i wouldn’t be surprised that everyone, men and machines were tired after a full week of flying plus the rehearsals before the show). All 4 T-50s flew during the show (on aug. 31st 053 took the place of 054, while on last day only 051 and 054 flew)
The fallacy of such statements have been explained before… what is the logic of testing it at a lower weight , and then REDO the testing when all the systems will be installed. Some are only able to see YF-22/F-22 analogies though, which is completely flawed. Besides, you can bet the prototypes are heavily instrumented.
On another note, crickey they used 054 for the flying display ( the one with most of the avionics fitted, radar, OEIS etc -for those who don’t know) ! Any idea why there were only 2 flying today ?
Berkut said in another thread , and i’ve seen a report somewhere suggesting this missile is (at least) a derivative of the new SRAAM missile for T-50. Plus, while there is a Tor canister next to it, i have a nagging suspicion it MIGHT be for Morfei ( despite the rumours , one can expect a bit of maskirovka once in a while), there were some reports alleging that Morfei’s (9M100) and T-50’s SRAAM will be similar. We’ll see i guess.
Reportedly that’s a DIRCM (101KS-O).
Btw regarding T-50’s performance, it’s current engines are bit more powerful that Su-35’s (15t versus 14.5t in AB), while it’s also bit smaller AND less draggy too. The end result it’s not surprising. Imagine what it can do when fitted with the new 18 (EIGHTEEN!) ton engines! It will be crazy.
PS: Looks like 053 flew yesterday (or today?) at MAKS replacing 054.
Thanks for the update Wanderlei, MiG-35 it is from now on . By the way, do you guys settled for what SAM are you going to get? ( if the loan is approved , right? )
Tons of pictures here but especially interesting are the ones at the bottom, showing the T-50 subsystems like the side AESA, IRST, OEIS elements, “R2D2” DIRCM, 101KS-N targeting pod, various antennas etc.

I’ve hardly seen such a load of bull and propaganda. Pretty much everything that Reuben fellow is going about is wrong! No wonder Jane’s is becoming sort of a laughing stock now, with such “quality reporters”. Geez what an idiot.
Or even worse “christians”, i am more offended by that. The world would be a much better place if the Vatican and Mecca and other similar “symbols” will be razed to the ground, preferably also every church, mosque etc. and immediately arrest ANY of these cardinals or ayatollahs or mullahs and so on that even suggest violence . The “flock ” should be ok in a few years once we knock some sense into them and have them see this world with different, opened eyes, rather that some supernatural creature’s “book” that lives on a cloud. Religion, especially in the 21st century, is a monstruous cancer to this planet.
Anyway, enough OT from me. In other news, it seems the americans are (surprisingly) backtracking on their vociferous threats of war so far, although unfortunately , even if they don’t attack, you can be sure they will simply step up the arms and jihadist manpower supply to the terrorist (or “freedom fighters” depends which side you are) groups operating in Syria. So more destruction on the way for the syrian people.
Meanwhile the french government is wrestling to get the title of USA’s most obedient whore from the UK government… De Gaulle must be turning in his grave (again) those cowards are ruining everything he built. Pity…
MAKS whole flying display (over 5 hours), i think it’s from today. Btw T-50-2 is also cleared to high-g turns and super-maneuverability ( someone mentioned in the T-50 thread that only 50-1 is cleared)

Something for Jo, apparently FGA-29 and FGA-35 are different AESA radars! Note the array is already canted on the FGA-35. I would never have the patient to count all those little dots (;)), but both have 960 TRM is that correct ?
http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1853241&postcount=109
Btw, in Twinblade pic of the “big” Zhuk-AE (AME?) above, you can see at the bottom right a prospect appearing to depict an array roughly similar to the FGA-35 (3D) one.
PS : Looking above at Twinblades pics again, it seems the “small” 680 TRM was identified ( not sure if officially too) as the FGA-29, while the “large” ~ 1000 TRM one as the FGA-35, and we suspect this is the one tested currently on (allegedly) MiG-29M 741. Obviously though now it looks that is not the case.
