Actually, it turns out it is the UB after all, apparently it’s been re-serialled after the first flight (sometime in july ?). After further reading i found out the UB has significant pilot cabins modifications (basically they’re a bit roomier and the pilot one has bigger transparencies) they are easy to spot putting the UB pic and a normal N pic side by side.

What are those “dots” on the LEVCONs, are they strain gauges or perforations (new modification?)

    Great photos, thanks Jack!

One small correction, according to algerian sources (forcesdz.com forum) and algerian news ZR350 and ZR351 are VVIP (presidential) helicopters.

    Mirror+ far right fanatics= fail

I can’t believe the stink they raise for some poor old Mirages to replace other poor old Mirages, what are they afraid of, the Typhoon can’t take them on or what? Christ the blatant idiocy.
Anyway, pity the argentinians didn’t got instead some 20 Su-30MK2s, some H-31/H-35 and some S-300VM, just to really troll the far right nutters. :p

So if true, any info if these Su-30M2 are brand new built for the purpose for RuAF, or are they part of a cancelled export order? Same about the hypothetical future Su-27SM3 order, does anyone know how many kits for China were made by KNAAPO that were not delivered (apparently, 200 initially ordered but only 95 delivered)? Thanks.

If confirmed, this makes 12+ possibly more Su-27SM3, 20 Su-30M2, perhaps 60 Su-30SM, perhaps 96 Su-35S, 124 Su-34, plus 24 MiG-29K/KUB as the new built fighters/strikers to be delivered for RuAF/RuNavy by 2020. Are there also Su-25UBMs on order , any idea how many, unfortunately i forgot the figure (16?).

Finally, what the hell is Korotkov and RAC MiG doing, there should have been a juicy MiG-35 contract signed by now. Any inside info? Someone on a russian site talked about a contract being announced at MAKS, not sure how accurate that rumour is. Thanks.

    Red painted Yak-130:

Didn’t realized the N-001V can see FIGHTER size target from 150 Km away, i was aware of those figures but i thought it was for large targets. Also i assume the Solo-54 processor is related to Solo-35 on the Su-35’s Irbis radar?
All in all seems N-001Vs (whether russian or for export) are still pretty respectable in air-to-air. Regarding the legacy N-001/001E, the detection figures vehiculated of 80-100km vs fighters and 140km vs bombers, are they accurate? T.hanks

Thanks for the info guys, so the radar on MiG-29AS is not upgraded, i assumed to be the case as in some sources it’s called MiG-29SD. Seems it’s a re-used designation (“old” SD has N-019ME radar, IFR, R-77 etc.), what does the “new” SD stands for anyway? Thanks.

By the way does anyone know what designation the radar on Slovakian MiG-29AS has after upgrade? Thanks.

Thanks for the details MSphere and ff1987, so this N-019ER upgrade is probably based on the N-019U2 radar of the MiG-29MU1. Pity it appears there won’t be new AAMs to go with it (although i would think a new active seeker for the R-27R missiles to match it with radar is not very outlandish isn’t it?)

N-001VP? (RuAF version of N-001VEP) I’m sure i’ve seen that designation in several places. Interestingly (but not sure how accurate) in one of the recent Su-27 articles in Keypub magazine, the range for N-001V (or is it VP?) is listed as 150km vs large fighter and 110 km vs small one.
