The circled object appears to be NASA’s F-5 reshaped to minimized sonic booms.

Lol Madrat , you need better glasses.:D

Judging by the large span of the thing, perhaps it’s more like a surveillance UAV?
Anyway, the UCAV rumoured to be in the works, is there any info which company will actually build it ? Will it be KnAAPO, will it be Irkutsk , or another one?
In case someone is not aware of them , some Sukhoi UAVs listed on their website:

Wow, that’s what hate does to you. Makes you loose your mind (assuming this person is not a sock-puppet, of course).

Anyway shall we get back to Chinese Air Power please? You know , the third ( some say second) most powerful AF in the world?:D

Hopefully 2013 will be just as exciting as the last year, hopefully we’ll see that UCAV, Y-20 (in full) , JH-7B , J-10B in series production and delivery, more J-20s, more J-31s, list goes on and on …

Russian MOD to order ( or have ordered? translation is not clear) 20 An-70:
    http://rian.com.ua/economy/20121227/336618701.html

Speaking of the Su-35S’s, my understanding of the news regarding the formal transfer is that they will be transferred to their units in the “near future”, which can mean anything from a few days to weeks ( it is unclear if those from Akthubinsk will be relocated as well). Probably there’s still some last minute tests and checks to be done.

Incidentally, have no idea how accurate, but some on russian fora mentioned about the Su-35S’s being expected at Dzemgi. (?)

I find SlowMan and Tigershark’s participation in the forum a fascinating insight into how South Korean and Chinese people perceive each other Deino. All we need is a Japanese poster to get the hat-trick! 😀 My parents went on holiday to China last year and the hatred of Japanese people really surprised them!

Kind of like this episode of South Park:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7xP5EFThh0
Apparently it really was like that sometimes…

So it has some use to the forum, even if it is just the comedy value. It is even funnier when JSR throws his Russian nationalistic view into play as well.

Tigershark admitted to being from US! No proof he’s actually chinese. But , regretably these new member like mr. Slowman here, those few “chinese” ( they say) trolls, and together with USA strong trolls, and mister JSR sure work very hard to sabotage the quality of the discussion here. Hands up whom of you would agree on a ban on these folks.

Aparently, and off the top of my head, the romanian Lancer pilots were trying to use the MiGs small size, effective cammo, smokeless engine, good radar and RWR and tactical maneuvers (and perhaps ECM) to survive the BVR shots and get close to the USAF F-15s were they had a chance with their HMS and Magics…

Don’t forget that apparently MiG-21 DID hit F-15 in combat in 1982, damaging at least one IDF Eagle. If the R-60 would have been an R-13M, or it would have had a bigger warhead, that F-15 would have been killed.

As a point defence fighter, the upgraded MiG-21 types are still reasonably dangerous to gen. 4 and 4+ opponents, and they can conceivably get a lucky shot at a 5th gen too (if they get close)

If they are not Chinese, what nationality do you think they are?

I believe the mods can ascertain what countries posters are based in by checking their IP addresses?

It would be very interesting to find out yes ( providing they don’t use a proxy). Doubtful though as the mods surely have to follow certain rules when moderating.

Btw for me is not a question of what nationality they are, but what interests they represent.:)

Surely not, it was still supposed to be a cheap companion to F-22 , and replacement for F-16, F/A-18 and ( at the time at least A-10). Probably it would have been cheaper than it is and closer to IOC by now (and not as much as a painful burden for the small US “allies”).

For instance (assuming it was still F-35), they could have had a nice SMOOTH underfuselage with similar bay as F-22 and J-31 (incidentally), it could have been a little more slender, a bit nimbler on it’s feet etc etc. Probably would have been saving alot of money to go for a bloody normal HUD coupled with JHMCS, even leave EOTS as an optional (podded) item, and so on.

Is that like how JSR reads Russian articles with google translate? 😀

I would not discount that. (and i’m saying that even if i’m basically a russian aviation fanboy)

Btw Tigershark reported. I’m sure there’s another “chinese” guy around who does the same thing, i will do same once i see another trolling post. And JSR too if he posts here the same ol’ stuff, sorry.

PS: Just to make it clear, probably not as much as the russian aviation, but i admire almost as much chinese efforts and accomplishments in aviation ( and defense industry in general). Let’s say if i’m a 100% russian aviation fanboy , chinese aviation and accomplishments is probably on 95%.

Anyway, looking forward to clearer pics of that Y-20, and hoping to see JH-7B in the not too distant future ( rumour is it flew few months ago), and apparently there’s an X-47B-class UCAV rumoured to head towards it’s first flight not too far from now.

I still believe the so called “chinese trolls” are not actually chinese but pretend to be chinese and do they very best to have themselves thoroughly unliked and cast the worst possible light on the real chinese. 😡

something unmanned, but on some reasons circumstances have changed
a clue is that when you finally will see it, it will remain you something very much – but not quite in a way you are expecting

    hopefully, I was mysterious enough…

Well, can you tell us roughly when this UCAV will be seen ? Is it the one that was moved to 2014? No point in asking you for more than what you said already, even if what you say make some of us feel like waterboarding you or something to spill out what you know about this “surprise”.:D

Well, something that will probably hearten Berkut. AF commander Shoigu does not like gray on RuAF aircraft, so he wants them cammoed again (according to the specifics of their basing and operation, he says). 🙂
    http://izvestia.ru/news/542205

Does anyone with good contacts/insight into the RuAF community know what do the pilots thought of the grey cammo ?

Speaking of Soyuz’s post that looks like a mother of a deal for the russian aviation industry.

Or it is all simple, they are just not added yet. 😉 Check EXIF. Either way, b/n delivered are 11,12,20,21,22.

Hmm, perhaps you’re right , besides that’s an ECM bird.
