Nothing in Flightglobal too regarding saudi Erieyes, even if few years back, maybe 2010, there WAS (i think one or two mentioned in the contracted but not delivered column).
Tragic, Rest In Peace to the victims. 🙁
Su-35S (new) 05 and 06 with GLITs markings! Thank you Djox @ mycitymilitary.

No i did not!:)
GLITs, certain.
So what did i won?
Upgraded non-IFR MiG-31BS to BM standard- and yes i did figured it out before reading it on paralay.:)
You need more than just arresting gear to make the carriers suitable for STOBAR operations. You need additional equipment, crews trained for landings, & to use the ships, pilots trained for STO using ski-jumps. You can’t just point a cat & trap trained Rafale or F-35C pilot at a ship with a ski-jump & traps & say “use that”.
You know, looking at QE now, i think it was a very badly made decision to finish it as a STOVL carrier (i know about the switch to and again from CATOBAR), a sort of giant LHA, with all the limitation this imposes (can’t land and operate anything but the bloody F-35B, no USN or Aeronavale cross-decking possible). It’s a huge, imposing 70,000-ton ship, for something that size it’s better to just pay a little bit more and get a proper carrier out of it. If all they wanted was a sort of ski-jump LHA, then for that purpose it shouldn’t have been bigger than 40,000 tons, thus saving large amounts of money, or maybe built 3 of the damn things for roughly same money- or perhaps a little bit more. The only reasoning in favour of STOVL is that they can be used from smaller and cheaper ships that cannot otherwise use normal carrier aircraft. Who the hell took this decision, it seems it only serves the purpose of keeping the Aeronavale and Rafale cross-decking out of reach and the UK firmly in the F-35 camp, wasn’t there talk about perhaps Aeronavale aircraft flying from a CATOBAR QE even if temporarily, or am i mixing things up?
Wow… What a tragic mess of a post.
Would you like to point out where I’ve had a loathful attitude to rest of Europe, ever on this forum? Perhaps you’d like to enlighten us?
This is getting tiring and annoying. Tragic mess huh? Again in this and other parts of your post you’re just arrogant and patronizing, perhaps you should dismount your tall horse for a bit, just as i might not know it all (and I DON’T, i’m not afraid to say that), neither do you despite what you might think. To answer, do i need to quote this again? Going in circles here, despite what you said subsequently about not hating the idea or the “dream” of an UEAF or UEM, what other conclusion can be drawn from the post below ?! You said this, not anyone else. You still haven’t posted anything (in another section or whatever) about the “despicable things” you talk about btw. Why?
Are you for real? Well no, obviously not because you have no idea how f*cked up and corrupt Europe really is. Today, Europe do the most unimaginable, despicable and sickening things that would sink it to the most awful depths capable of matching that of the US, Russia, China or any other country, both “civilised” and 3rd world. Why don’t you go educate yourself on these simple un-reported matters then maybe you’d just wake up and end up in the real world. Do that small thing instead of insulting other people’s intelligence!
Your other points (dreams) are even worth replying to. Get real!
I do not agree with a “United European Military” because ‘I believe’ it will not work. Each European country have different requirements and have different views on world matters. I asked you a question on a likely scenario of deploying one or two Aircraft Carriers and how to solve the differences of the EU’s matters. You totally ignored it. So, how can you have a United European Military when you can’t even solve that seemingly simple situation?
I did not ignored anything. The problem, or one of them is the peoples that have already embraced the “NO, it can’t be done, we can never get along ” from the get going. How about thinking in terms of what would need to happen to make this work? Imagine if say the britishers from 1940 would have said “no it can’t be done, why bother…” instead of standing firm (and the “big” US allies of UK today were watching and getting richer btw) when the nazi armies where at the Channel shores, what then. It is this attitude that we NEED today, it is this attitude that we NEED everywhere in Europe to make this “dream” come true. Will it ever happen ? I don’t know, the odds do not look too good, but it is NOT impossible. This is a “dream” worth having and worth pursuing for our own future.
Are you having difficulties distinguishing the difference Multinational and British? Are you also having a bit of Brain Fade, BAE Hawk not ring a bell?… Aren’t you also aware of that what Britain produces today that isn’t just military fast jets?… No, not ehm… Aware… of anything?… Anything else in particular?… Not done your research on other areas?…
Again, more patronizing rubbish, you sure you don’t need some oxygen yourself up there?! I think the “Stewie” quote is more fitting for you than i, with all due respect. Thanks for your concern, but i’m aware enough.
Let me just take the recent examples (not necessarily to you) regarding the ACTIVE undermining of UK’s defence just to satisfy the politicians’ allegiance to send british troops as basically mercenaries (not my words, but this is what peoples like Sqn. Cdr. P. Mason said he felt like – and that was in 1991) in wars for US profit: the Harrier FA2 has been axed to cater for this F-35 (supposed to come in 2012, how did this turned out) then the Nimrod MRA4 (after billions spent, in production and ready for delivery!) and Harrier GR7/9 were axed, and reduced production for Typhoon for what ? Just to free money to burn in Afghanistan or Iraq in hugely unpopular wars, not to mention the huge suffering brought to MILLIONS of peoples over there, which is against the very principles of european society today.
This dramatically weakened the UK defence, future options being closed like postponing the F-35 if necessary, and especially avoiding capability gaps by say using the Harriers on QE for a while, the Nimrod axe hugely weakened the UK nuclear deterrent which assures the very existence of this country (although the missiles are american (!), so not sure how a strong of a deterrent that is now). My blood boils of what has been lost and the level of treason, and i’m not even british!
It brings Europe as a whole closer together in developing what we/they do best, so long as it works well, and it jolly does more often than not, then it’s a positive chapter in my book.
Again, not agreeing with such an idea does not mean I, nor anyone else for that matter, has a special kind of hatred for the idea. Do learn how to know the differences.
Well, yes, that’s what we bloody need, before it’s too late! What the hell i’ve been saying here for the last 3 pages?
You have quite a view on the rest of the world, very loathing like…
So what, should we just shrug, say it’s realpolitik and move on with our mundane lives, to a future where perhaps we’d be mere vegetables chatting about the increase of the chocolate ration from 20 to 15 grams? I do loath what has become of this world, and i do loath the superpower machinations that renders this country’s defence and Europe’s as a whole increasingly weakened until like i said we’ll be just some Canada or Australia (no offence) at the very best, pushovers, if not worse.
Whom is the most traitorous and cowardly, the Americans for offering or the Europeans for accepting?
Of course yes, this is what needs to change! The US is rotten to the core anyway and it’s not our problem what they do over there, but the traitorous politicians in our countries be it from UK or elsewhere DO need to be stopped to work for them and against their own peoples. THIS is what needs to happen before it’s too late.
PS: Anyway, i’ll say yet again, if anyone doesn’t like this theme or doesn’t like what is said here or whatever, please, if you don’t have anything constructive to say just stay away and don’t post! We’re wasting each other’s time really.
Yak-130 in new cammo:
Superbity 🙂
What are the “dots” around the nose (next to IFR f.e.) and airframe, some kind of sensors for testing, or calibration markings?

um no.. Iran hated the Soviets. Americans #1 satan, but Soviets #2. Soviets preferred Iraq because it was led by Super Mario.
After 1988 they switched to USSR (because they were isolated), they had a lot of weapons buys on the line for the early nineties, but USSR dissolution and US pressure stopped most. Peace in 1982 would still have them isolated so USSR and China (and NK etc.) are the most logical choices to build up depleted weapons stocks, plus until early nineties at least USSR will not budge to US pressure. So whatever the iranians could have bought and have money for (which USSR would have very much welcomed), they would have got it all. Hell maybe USSR doesn’t even fall with several tens of billions coming from Iran, who knows.
Errr, no. The revolution insured no American help into the future. You must not have been around to miss the geopolitics of the situation.
Um, re-read my post i said IRAQ would have leaned closer to GCC/US, not Iran. Remember, US were good buddies with Iraq during this war (also buddies with Iran too btw- remember Contra and similar stuff). US (and the israelis etc.) wanted none of them to win over the other, so they made sure of that.
Indeed the idea that the eurocanards are “inferior” in any way it’s absolutely ridiculous (just read about various excercises when they’re pitted against US types). The only thing that held them down from realising their full potential (like more powerful engines, AESA radars etc.) is the very buying of american aircraft (except France, the reason there being that they are left on their own) with the limited funds available dictated by corrupt politicians, rather than investing those same money LOCALLY, which among other things, will brings DOWN the prices. Otherwise they are FANTASTIC aircraft, able to duke it out with the best the US or Russia or anyone else has to offer right now (especially on the export market- that F-35 doesn’t show signs of being ready anytime soon, meanwhile the eurocanards are here and READY), and with limited upgrades (gimballed AESA, latest self-defence suites, more powerful engines) can stand up in a defensive scenario to even F-22.
Replacing the F-35 orders in Italy, UK etc. with simply more Typhoons, and those ordered by Belgium, Norway, Netherlands etc., with Gripens will not only contribute to lowering the prices of those aircraft, but also financing installing the very latest upgrades on them to keep them competitive until something like that FS-2020 (to directly face F-35) and an european twin engine medium-heavy stealth fighter (to directly face F-22 and their notional NGAD) could take over. And say what they say, but there’s absolutely no way that the said F-35 buy will create and maintain more jobs in Europe compared to actually ordering and investing in the eurocanards, no way whatsoever, regardless what LM propaganda says.
Regarding the eurocanards and finding a niche for each of them, i was thinking about a stretched, slightly bigger Typhoon (sort of like SH to F/A-18C) with more fuel and more range, with EJ-230 engines, perhaps CFTs, and perhaps one LO pod under the fuselage, thus obtaining a direct counterpart to F-15SE and Silent SH, with the Rafale holding the middle sector, and Gripen the light fighter sector. There would be a potential market for another 750 or even much more eurocanards and their support imo for both european and export market, IN ADDITION to those already built, and that is far more valuable that building some bits and bobs for the claimed 3000 F-35s (will never happen, you’ll see), at least twice or thrice more euros/pounds by 2030, and a comparably HIGHER number of jobs, not to mention skills, know-how etc.
In fact, most of the above can even be achieved while maintain this damn “special relationship” if there’s the will, just like Typhoon, Tornado, Jaguar and many others were built LOCALLY in lieu of US designs. But as it looks now the traitorous and coward politicians in the US pocket on most of the european countries now are selling us to the americans for good, by destroying and dismantling the local defence industry, capacities and know-how. May the *******s rot in hell.
Thank for that Swerve, although i rather have a gag reflex going on that LM site. Would still be nice to have some info from peoples who have an in and out image of this program (preferably critical of F-35, what’s the point to believe corporation PR?) rather than powerpoint graphics, if possible.:)
