Excellent site guys. Before he died (through illness) the only aircraft my father ever flew in was the Duxford Aviation Society’s Varsity out of Duxford on a pleasure flight for members in the early 1980’s.. and as a slight coincidence the day he died was the 29th August 1984, just ten days after the LAPG Varsity crash. He was very shocked and saddened when he heard of the loss, and quite thoughtful of his time in the air and what those poor souls must have gone through. I myself was 17 at the time and although i vaguely remember the TV reports i never knew exactly what happened, and living near Cambridge the coverage was quite brief.
The newpaper reports on your website are the first i have seen and brought a lump to my throat.. very moving.
