cheers for the photos, think can see our hotel in the shot of palm island! The seawings flight looks interesting.
Also thanks for the info on the museums. Didnt Air Atlantique fly out there a couple of years ago and had something to do with the setting up of it?
Last photo to pilot
“BREAK BREAK BREAK We’ve got a BMW on us!!!!!!”
Wasnt this the Vulcan that had the carpet gripper rod mod on the tail fin?
to keep the birds off?
Was at the BTCC at Donington in May (2008) on the inside of the Craner curves and could not see it where it usually is. The last time i saw it the tail plane was hanging down by about 30 degrees and the paint was faded
Have been lucky enough to meet him on numerous occasions at book signings and as said above the pictures taken in July 1940 have inspired an interest in the Battle. All veterans that i have asked have said is that “all they ask is to be remembered”, those pictures will ensure that he will never be forgotten. RIP.

I was there too, it was the silence i remember and then Roger Hofling (you can correct me on spelling) been very good with the commentary, not mentioning what happened and continuing with the show. (What could he say, worst nightmare for the commentary team?)
I didnt go to more than two or three shows a year in the 1980’s as id only just past my test in late 1986. One that I did go to was Coventry in 1988…………………………….
Sure these were taken this year. The sky doesnt look correct, its a very strange blue colour ……………… oh i remember. Seriously though very nice shots of something different.
For some reason I enjoyed Sundays show more than the September which I found boring but I can not give a reason why. The Mrs agreed with me and suggested that it may have been because the weather was so bad that I appreciated what I saw more. Any one else felt the same?
