mounted internal of the intake?
yes
what is that thing you attached?
It’s one of KRR (radar blocker) variants studied at 2nd MoD Institute (LO research think tank).
Now weather is a factor. Watch forecast for UHKD
I would like to stick my head inside those air duct on the ’52’:)
you won’t find there anything new comparing to “50-1”
S-duct a-la F-22 will never appear on T-50
but starting from “50-3” they would cut your head right there;)
apart of blocker, T-50 inlet is a piece of art – for those who understands
a little teaser while we are waiting for 50-2 maiden flight…
The link was already provided earlier.

just note that link to original source (an Indian news site) is leading to nowhere and there are no such news can be found via googling whole http://www.newkerala.com
…this weekend or start of next week
Why would it be strange?
my reasons
– IL-76 is just too unnecessary big for that purpose
– modyfying IL-76 forward fuselage nose with all that transparencies for radar tests seems too much effort for task that Y-8 or 737 can easily carry on with plenty space at the nose and energy onboard (and they could much easier be modified for that)
I think they are modding another Il-76 for J-20’s nose.
err…isn’t it too strange choice – IL-76 as AESA testbed? I wonder how funny it will look like
60 KW can hardly feed a powerful AESA with 2000 T/R modules.
AL-31FN Series 4 (Article 39) that reportedly is under development for CAC by Salyut as a ‘temporaly decision’ for J-20 till WS-15 will come in has enough power.
Holydays are over …..:D 😮
Andreas, on SDF they saythat pics “taken in January but recently released”
The engine cannot be a regular AL-31FN which cannot support such high dry thrust.’
what exactly ‘such’? we just didn’t know exact take-off weight of J-20 in this flight
If you claim China managed to get a regular AL-31FN and special treated it and managed to upthrust it. Then it will not be a AL-31FN anymore.
agreed, it’s quite a possibility
A WS-10B sounds more reasonable.
why then this ‘WS-10B’ nozzle looks so much AL-31ish?
Your thoughts?
may be several sections like this, each installed with incremental angle to vertical, composing a trap for returning waves? dunno
blocker will be initially tested at Saturn stand, then, if needed, additional modifications will be implemented in 117 compressor
such a blocker design will *not* be implemented only to T-50
we need to wait for 50-3 to see (if they will allow us)
I slightly remember a logo very close to one on render that was pushed ca. 1997-1998…:p

The following is a non-exclusive list of registered trademarks, registered service marks, or trademarks or service marks of Lockheed Martin Corporation or its subsidiaries, in the United States and/or other countries or jurisdictions:

but they still need some curvature.
need what for? damn, X-32/F-32 need not

Mod Edit: The third image was far too large for this forum. The link will have to do instead.
do u have a picture of this compressor? some one said they had the picture before.
just part is shown – blocker lenght rougly equals its diameter and not a mirror copy of this section
