When talking to one of Sally B’s ground crew at Duxford on VE day he mentioned that Pink Lady was not effected as the French did not inforce this ruling in the same way the UK Government.
I think we should be less blaming the EU and more thinking what our Government should be doing.

Our government should do the same as the French, grow a backbone and tell the EU to F off, we could all get on with our life then and not worry if the government will wipe our a*** or not. All that is required is a goodly amount of common sense.

My guess, FWIW, is that they turn the napoleonic blind eye to this EU bureaucratic clap trap. Most of Europe seem to pick and choose which bits of the Brussels outpourings they chose to comply with, and ignore the rest.

That said, I really would like to know how they’ve overcome the problem

Its nice to see someone understood the meaning of the comment.

    Thanks cargomaster

Thanks for putting these on Pete, this is the sort of thing this forum is all about.
I for one, would rather look at and read about these photos, than read all the other banal trivia, about polls and, where should all the photos be.
Keep em coming Pete, you’ve got one interested reader here.

    Thanks again.

A great little event, and it was nice to see Pete Kinsey out in his Cosmic wind. One of the nicest displays I’ve seen for a long time.
Oh, there was a Mustang there as well. :diablo:
Sorry about the picture quality, I can’t afford a decent camera.

As I’ve said before, I’d much rather my ignorance tax go towards keeping old aeroplanes flying (or preserved) than to some black lesbian disabled vegetarian organic sandle sanctuary. Or opera.

    JC.
Steady – We don’t want to go and waiste all our hard earned TAX on old aeroplanes do we now. There are a lot of good causes out there, just like the one mentioned above. :dev2:

There, I’ve said my bit, I will go and boil my head now. :dev2:

    Yep might have too Charlie!

I forgot to ask, what’s happening with ‘Pink Lady’?

After all, the same rules must affect this B17 also.

Have her operators made any protest about these charges?

    Cheers.

Superb flying today, many thanks to those concerned.
I rather enjoyed the mini-Legends at the end, who were piloting the Spitfire trio and the Hurricanes?

Is there still a possibility that the Sea Fury (and the Sea Hawk?) will be there tomorrow (weather permitting)?

I worked for the Old Flying Machine Company many years ago.

however, there is a photograph of Hoof Proudfoot, flying the Fighter Collection Hellcat, at Old Warden and he is waving to the croud during a gear down flypast.

I’ve lost all my photo’s from those early days. By far my favourite airshow. Maybe some pyro’s at Legends could wake things up abit.
