Ignore them and eventually they will tire and take their ignorance elsewhere.

But if they don’t, then they become part of the background scenary 😀

Anyways, it’s funny and disturbingly pathetic watching a nationalistic flamer arguing with himself because his very self-worth (and the perceived one of his nation) is dependent on bringing the FC-1 “down a notch” 😀

    Welcome Vikasrehman 😀

But please ignore the nationalistic flamers currently residing here, though trying and insulting they might be. We are letting them talk themselves tire and go back to their LCA threads where we leave them to their own mostly irrelevant but peaceful world (where no one really bothers them out of lack of interest).

I don’t deny my fondness for the JF-17 but at least I don’t go on the LCA thread and spend half my life slagging it off.

CAT1, you put the finger on exactly the difference between us and the nationalistic flamers.

We all have a bias towards to the FC-1 so we post news and pictures on it. Who posts things on planes he doesn’t like? But only a nationalist who have little else to live for would spend half his waking moments feeling angry about the FC-1’s development and throwing thinly veiled insults and accusation at not just the plane but at the people who are posting in a thread that really has nothing to do with him or other Indians.

Currently, we have Indians pretending to be Chinese and Pakistanis with insulting signatures, Indians who have flooded a half dozen Chinese and Pakistani-related threads with flames and people who even started multiple Chinese-related threads (like “FC_1 to Brasil” and “Taiwan”) just to encourage flamewars.

Yet, there are hardly any retaliatory responses in the Indian-related threads where Indians basically post stuff for nobody but other Indians in peace.

Only idiot nationalists need to invade threads to insult people they think are “enemies” of India

The quoted range is surprisingly low though. Most estimates of the PL-11 I’ve seen were around 30-50 miles or 50-80km which is comparable to the Aspide.

The cheap and fast way is to get a BVR weapon mated to an existing system and that seems to be the idea behind the FD-60. It is not a new system but a component that could be fitted to existing systems that use the Sparrow.

If you need to change the system too, then you might as well wait for a new weapon and system. In that case, the PAF would wait until the FC-1 and its SD-10 main armament and matching radar develops and export the entire system over to the F-16.

According to the article, the FD-60 would allow the PAF (or IrAF) to gain BVR with what they have now with maybe minor changes.

If the FD-60 requires a whole new radar to be installed, then it isn’t a viable solution at all. The article implies that is a standalone expendable that could be used from existing American systems.

Not only that, as the article said, the FD-60 is aimed at countries “such as Pakistan and Iran, that have inventories of US fighters.”

So according to Jane’s, FD-60 is compatible with planes using the Sparrow. Aside from PAF F-16s, Iranian F-4s and F-14s are possible candidates.

It is for existing aircraft and systems. Its appearance has nothing whatsoever to do with the SD-10 which is a new missile to be mated with new systems.

    Here’s an interesting related item.

China’s vectoring nozzle. Not sure if this for the WS-10 series or another engine.

Don’t feed the flamers. They are not here to debate.

The tactic is to make up some phoney claim that someone supposedly said at some supposed time previous and bring this supposed claim up again and again even when people such as Phrozenflame and others claim nothing of the sort.

That’s nothing short of lying to stay flaming.

Current JDW issue is always the week coming.

The PL-11 has been China’s main BVR for years even while people debated its origins. It’s only time before the thing is exported because the next generation, SD-10, is maturing.

In China it equips the Shen- yang J-8II ‘Finback’ interceptor but, according to the manufacturer, the export version is intended for the F-16 – a clear signal that Pakistan could be the lead customer.

This is an interesting item. Either the F-16 are BVR capable now (confirming rumors of AIM-7s) or the Chinese/Pakistani feel they could upgrade the aircraft themselves.

Or , a third option, the US will MLU the PAF F-16s.

But I doubt the Chinese is aiming a missile at Pakistan dependent on the US to integrate the weapon for them.

    A major, major development.

    Very good post, Google!

    Secondary school????

No dating until you’re 31, just tend to your studies, young man.

Seriously: Use written notes. School is one of the few places you can do this. Write something funny that tells her how much you like her. It replaces knee-knocking terror of having to say something in front of the person you like.

That’s interesting. Give us a link. You just can’t say a South Korean paper said something and have us believe it. I’m Asian, though not Korean, and have not read anything about S Koreans being extra comfy in Russian tanks.

The average Russian tanker is much smaller than the American one (Soviet tankers have a height limit of 5’4″ if I remember correctly) and Russian tanks in general are cramped for people used to American or western style tanks, including the Korean 88 tank which is design along the lines of Abrams.

Also, I just read that all three Asians in the NBA are 7 footers (Wang, Batere and Yao). Therefore, the average Chinese NBA player is much taller (at 7.2 feet) than the average American or European one also playing in the league. Extrapolating the NBA ethnic height average to the general population, could we say that northern Asians, in this case – Northern Chinese, are on average taller than whites? 😀
