First Two Stealth Jets to Arrive in Korea by March

Two F-35A stealth fighter aircraft will be delivered to South Korea from the U.S. by the end of March, a military source said Sunday.
“Two F-35As out of 10, which the Air Force will receive this year, will arrive in South Korea by the end of March. They will be deployed by around April or May,” a source familiar with the matter said.
The source said two aircraft will arrive every month and up to 10 stealth fighters will be handed over by the end of the year. The Air Force will possibly complete their deployment during the same time. By the end of 2018, the Air Force had taken over six F-35As for training at Arizona’s Luke Air Force Base in the U.S.

No it does not as the F-35 & ALIS do not automatically send back that kind of granular data.
If it’s a standoff bomber then it will never be a tail-chase as they launched long before you could get there.
If it’s a standard bomber/fighter intercept then it won’t be a tail-chase till after they detect you.. which will be long after you launch your missiles.
UK F-35B IOC is for the “Land” mission, not carrier IOC which is set for 2020.
IOC L for the F-35B is marked by having nine aircraft ready to deploy on combat operations anywhere around the world, and sees the platform cleared to carry the Raytheon AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), the MBDA AIM-132 Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM), and the Raytheon Paveway IV laser-guided bomb (LGB).

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said his country would consider buying Raytheon-made Patriot missiles from the US government, but would not cancel its order of S-400 anti-aircraft missiles from Russia as a condition of the deal.
The US State Department approved the possible sale of 80 Patriot MIM-104E missiles, 60 PAC-3 missiles and related equipment for $3.5 billion to Turkey in December 2018. It was part of an apparent attempt to get the country to cancel its order for the lmaz-Antey S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile system. The US military is concerned that the S-400 system, which is advertised as having anti-stealth capabilities, could expose vulnerabilities in the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter, which Turkey has also purchased and is awaiting delivery.
However, in a recent interview with Turkish broadcaster NTV Cavusoglu says that cancelling the S-400 order is off the table.
“The S-400 agreement is already a finished deal,” he says. “We can deal with the United States for the Patriot, but if it’s about the S-400, no.”

Just like any other “multirole fighter” in use today, “interception” is one of it’s duties. Obviously as a multirole fighter, compromises were made so that it could do many missions. However, this does not mean that it will not do it’s job well.
To date, the F-35 has done very well in LFEs (Large Force Exercises) such as Red Flag, Northern Edge, etc where it has put up better than a 20:1 “kill” ratio. Keep in mind all of thoise LFEs were with pre Block 3F software like 2B and 3i so what is coming off the line today is even better. One of the most overlooked features of the F-35 that contributed to this was it’s ability to identify a contact/threat. In Australian Parliamentary testimony years ago it was stated that a typical 4th gen fighter uses a dozen or so methods to ID a contact, the F-22 uses about 200 and the F-35 uses about 600. This ability to gather & share information it ID a contact is vital in the A2A role as it gives the pilot more time to make decisions.
Obviously this 12:200:600 was a generalization and newer 4.5 Gen fighters like Rafale, Eurofighter, etc will do better than a dozen.
Another feature that you touched on that is vital in the A2A role is MADL. It’s ability to automatically and “stealthily” share information is key to any intercept if you want to ID the contact as soon as possible.
Canada’s F-35 issues have been messy from day one with a combination of good intentions (but bad policies) at the start & bitter politics at the present. Hopefully they can get their krap straight during the “next” eval.
Dutch F-16s return from Middle East as F-35 ambitions grow
Defence minister Ank Bijleveld on 14 December 2018 announced the Netherlands’ intention to purchase another squadron of F-35s, in a measure that will be enabled by additional funding leading to the nation meeting a NATO spending target of 2% of GDP on defence.
According to this plan, the Netherlands will acquire 15 additional F-35s for around €1.2 billion ($1.1 billion), boosting an existing commitment to take 37 conventional take-off and landing examples.
Two Dutch F-35As are already involved in operational test and evaluation work performed at Edwards AFB, California, while six more will be stationed at Luke AFB in Arizona to support the training of pilots from the Netherlands and Denmark.
Aircraft to be assigned to a first operational squadron at Leeuwarden will arrive in the Netherlands this year, with a second unit to be formed at Volkel air base. The location for the nation’s third frontline squadron has yet to be decided.
At the current exchange rate it is actually $1.382 Billion, not $1.1.

Maj. Rachael Winiecki, of the 461st Flight Test Squadron, recently became the first female test pilot to lead an F-35 mission at Edwards Air Force Base, California, according to the service.
Winiecki, who’s flown the A-10C Thunderbolt II and F-16 Fighting Falcon on various missions, is part of a team overseeing developmental testing of all F-35variants, which began last month at the base.
“I may be the first female developmental test pilot [in the F-35], but [test pilots] are just one small part of the test enterprise,” she said in the release.

Further evidence to refute the “36 hour to remove” claim is that the article also talked about the newer process that did not take the engine out but replaced the part in place. That process still took 20 hours.
Further evident of DA’s absurd claim came from another interview where the entire fleet of F-35s was to be inspected within 48 hours. This would be impossible if it took 36 hours to just remove it from the F-35 as the total time would be greater than 80 hours for the whole cycle (36 + x + 36).
“The primary goal following any mishap is the prevention of future incidents,” Joe Dellavedova, the director of public affairs for the F-35 program, said in a statement. “We will take every measure to ensure safe operations while we deliver, sustain and modernize the F-35 for the warfighter and our defense partners.”
Dellavedova said that they will remove and replace any fuel tubes they suspect might be problematic. Those planes that don’t have the problem will be cleared to fly, he said, and they hope to have the inspections completed within 24 to 48 hours.

The U.S. Navy is on track to reach critical milestones and declare its F-35 Joint Strike Fighters ready for combat next month.
There have been no reported delays in the service’s F-35C reaching initial operating capability (IOC) next month, Navy spokeswoman Lt. Lauren Chatmas told Military.com on Friday.
The Joint Strike Fighter Fleet Integration Office “is confident in meeting milestones as planned,” Chatmas said.
While no official February date has been announced, the work “is still on target, still proceeding as planned,” she said.
Last month, the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147 “Argonauts” out of Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, completed a critical milestone aboard the USS Carl Vinson, a turning point in reaching IOC for the Navy’s stealth jet.
The “Argonauts” are slated to become the service’s first operational F-35Csquadron. Once IOC ready, VFA-147’s first deployment is scheduled aboard the Vinson in 2021.

In the same article it says that the new (no removal OTI [One Time Inspection] process) process involves removal, fix, and replacement.
When the OTI was first accomplished, the fuel line swap took about 24 hours, 12 hours less than removing the entire engine and performing the maintenance on a stand.
Another source also states:

Note that ALL the planes that he is talking about will be done within 24-48 hours. This cannot be done if it take 72+ hours (36 to remove + fix + 36 to reinstall) to do one jet.
