Best person to ask will be “Brittania” I seem to remember he got some shots of it! The TU154’s were coming into NCL up until about 3 years ago!
Vickers VC-10
Boeing 757-200 *especially in BA Landor Livery*
Lockheed Tristar *In RAF Grey*
Chris i assume your flying from NCL?
The self service Kiosks sometimes ask for credit card verification but the staff on the check in desk shouldn’t need it!
Well it beats those bloody annoying Jet2 adverts!
Why is it so important?? its beyond Belief to me a planes a plane gets you from A to B!
Why dont you just look out the window when you get to your boarding gate and vuala there will be your aircraft! Complete with Reg!!!
Guys lets not forget FEDEX have converted over 60 DC-10’s to the MD-10 standard! So really the DC-10 is still flying just with newer cockpit systems.
EK moved over to T3 in stages starting at the end of last July i think! They were fully moved in by December allowing all EK flights to operate in and out.
Wannabe Pilot: I’ll Enquire with the EK Ticket desk tomorow at work for you see what the deal is with the stopover.
Every flight for EK now operates in and out Terminal 3 at DXB, Bit like T5 at Heathrow but better organised. However! During the night is when the airpor is at is Busyiest! Over a space of 6 hours the Entire EK fleet pass’s through the T3 so that can only tell you how many flights will be going in and out. Did you know you can book a hotel through EK for your Transfer? 7 hours is classed as a long Transfer, EK will get you to your hotel and your luggauge will be tagged through to its final destination, aswell as you been checked in for the connection.
I didn’t realise First Choice/Thomson were getting them fitted to the 757s, it did baffle me one went over the other day, I guess there 76s will be getting them in due Course.
I think one or two of the FCA/TOM 757s got them fitting during there winter lease in canada!
There is one with winglets now.
The 757 was the first “Modern” aircraft I worked on, I thought it was like something off Star trek compared with the old British types I was trained on. Now I work on the A330 and 777, the insides of the poor old 757 look very old now. She is still the most elegent jet Billy Boeing built!Rgds Cking
They have 2 with winglets now!
G-LSAB and G-LSAC!
Great shots!
For the Saudi’s off the top of my head i think there Entourage is!
An MD-11, Boeing 777, Boeing 747SP and the 757 Hospital.
Fine capture indeed, not long now till it is replaced by the 777 eh?
Not from what ive been hearing! We’ll be keeping the A330 for a while longer yet!
Noot sure about this one but i know one of the A300’s had to return to LGW on Monday after not been able to raise the landing gear!
EDIT
According to PPRUNE sounds like it may have been a Test flight on the other A300 out of MAN today.
Off the top of my head i think they have a few 738’s and 733’s and possibly and A310!
How many Thomson aircraft operate from Newcastle? I flew on a 767 (and possibly a 757 on the way back…) when I went to the Dominican Republic last October. On the way back the IFE system kept crashing and the reading lights were on and off like a disco. How old are they?
By the way, what does “gone tech” mean?? In need of repair?
In the Winter TOM have a 757 and a 738 based with 767s doing cruise charters.
Infact we have had 2 return leg cruise charters in early this morning a TCX A332 from Santa Domingo and about an hour later a FCA/TOM 763 from La Romana
The TCX A330 takeing off empty was rather impressive in the windy conditions!
In the summer NCL gets 2 757s and a 738 from TOM! With a MAN based 763 postioning up to operate the SFB and CUN.
Going Tech really is just a term for saying there is a problem with the plane!
We tend to keep the same 737 for periods of the year of course getting swapped when hanger checks are needed, but ive known the 757s to be swapped with other base’s upwards of 3 times in a week in peak times!
