This is some of the damage that occurred at Bruntingthorpe during the high winds. Jet Provost XM355 definitely came of worst for damage amongst the aircraft, although the Mystere came fairly close with the Guppy’s wing swinging over the top of it! The workbench has not faired well and looks like it may have to be cut up in situ as the Guppy has just ridden straight over it 😮

Is it a guess the identity or do you really not know which one it is?
The truth is I don’t know the identity only the location, which is Bruntingthorpe.
W&R doesn’t cover it as there is no cockpit section. The tail fin and the belly tank are there though.
The area the Lightning is in is due to be cleared soon so I guess at some point soon the aircraft will move. I shall try and find out more on my next visit.
Any help on the identity would be good though.

Not technically a scrap yard but the photos of this ex Saudi Lightning were only taken last weekend.
Any takers as to its true identity? Note also two sets of wings and only one fuselage.

I’m sure you’ll get your fix soon Scott 🙂
If only they would turn the bloody light on in there! And just where is the S1’s main undercarriage door?

I believe the Vulcan being scrapped in the photo is K2 XJ825 year 1992.

What a great museum, I bet they had fun locating all those aircraft there 🙂
The Javelin is really XH768 ‘E’ marked up as XH707 ‘P’ it was formerly located at Bochum, West Germany.

I don’t know if this will help but I’ll run it by you anyway.
When I changed my mouse for a Logitech optical one I installed the software that came with it and I experienced this mad mouse phenomenon myself. I looked into the settings only to discover that both my Windows XP and the Logitech mouse drivers were installed and running at the same time. I removed one set of drivers, rebooted and voila no more mad mouse!

After all this aircraft has been through the last thing it needed was to be made a laughing stock of.
A not very happy Plazz 😡
I’m not one for reading the tabloids but it was pointed out to me that there was a small article in the Sun newspaper about this Vulcan today. Judging by the amount of hits and the £15000+ bid it now stands at she’s certainly getting some positive press, makes a change eh? I hope these people know exactly what they’re bidding on. I bet the current owner thinks all his Christmases are coming at once :p

Oh my god 😮 That buyer cannot be serious. I’ve just taken a look at the other Items he’s bought and I can’t quite see where the Vulcan would fit in to his collection. Strange tastes indeed!
If (hypothetically of course) money was absolutely no object would any of you on here rescue 391 by bidding for her? I think I would just to try and give her a dignified end.
Plazz
Well someones bid on it 😮

For Andy…
Its hard to believe it will be a year next month since I stood at the end of a rain soaked Filton to take these photos of the last ever Concorde flight. 😡

My first model was a Spitfire (wasn’t everyone’s?). I distinctly remember it was formed in light blue plastic and it never got painted, in fact it probably sported an overall gluey fingerprint colour scheme like most of my early kits 😀

Trust me to be a week behind everybody else. I swear I must have my own personal built in satellite delay 😀
