Plazz what day where you there?
stewart1a,
It was Tuesday. Why do you ask? I see from the Hawk at DX thread that you’ve been working on the TSR2. Maybe you were there whilst I was keeping Harmon King busy chatting for the best part of an hour about the Buccaneer and TSR2?

A couple more for your viewing pleasure.

Setter,
Advice taken, better safe than sorry eh! 🙂

It looks like the drinks are on me again then!
Have a good one Nigel

Is it this one as seen at Kemble on the 22/1/05?

Hmm, maybe the F105 isn’t the best example to have given!
I think the Fleet Air Arm museum would make a great location for an F14. I just cant think of any good reason why a UK museum would want to display one, to my knowledge the F14 has played no part in British military history, any one beg to differ? (Gulf war I & II collaboration maybe?)
I would like the ability to drool over one without having to keep making trips overseas! Also there is a myriad of surplus F14 airframes at the moment, 10 years from now the pickings probably wont be so rich.

Another photo from my collection (Fairford 93). I really must get a better quality scanner though!

Anything can be saved with enough will power and money, P38 Glacier Girl is proof of this.
Scott,
Is your lightning cockpit complete and if you don’t mind me asking what are your long term plans for the aircraft? Will she always remain static or are you aiming to get any systems or engines working? Its always nice to see an aircraft from any era come back to life.
Plazz
1993 was the last year an F14 Tomcat attended an IAT. It was an F14A from VF84 and was on show in the static park next to an A6 Intruder. I would post my pictures if the attachment thingy was fixed!
Being one of my favourite aircraft I would love to see one at this years IAT but I don’t think it will happen. Instead I’m off to NAS Oceana in September for probably the last ever appearance of an F14 at an airshow.

I’ll try linking a photo from IAT 93, Hope it works!
This is the aircraft in question being moved on the 25th January.
Photos curtsey of G Hulme.

This is the F100 at the Wales Aircraft Museum, Cardiff.
I took this shot way back in 1987 I believe it was cut up not long after the museum met its end somewhere around 1996.
