Wasnt there a Gannet in someones garden just outside of Swindon, by a Roundabout I seem to remember – it would have been in the early 90’s?. I was sure it was mentioned on here before but I cant find any other listing for it.
All boxes ticked!
Does anyone remember a BBC series called the Squadron, according to Wiki it was aired in 1982 and a lasting memory is of a group of Drug Smugglers flying a small light aircraft as a Harrier slowly pulls up alongside and persuades them they would be better off landing ASAP.
Insurance renewal?
I’m sure someone said a Spitfire had crashed in my garden, just over there where I want to plant potatoes 🙂
I know where you are coming from Rob, this is the sort of thing I would print off and leave lying around nearer to Christmas. 🙂

Until you finish building a real one, this may look good on a shelf – unless you’ve already got one of course 🙂

Not sure if it was the constellation mentioned above but earlier this morning there was a polished “back to metal” aircraft flew over Shoreham, West to East with what looked like a Corsair flying alongside but I could well be wrong.
The programme didn’t say whether or not the people who had bought counterfeit goods had any recourse against the seller, could the police / trading standards do anything or was it simply a case of putting it down to experience?
Thanks Phil, thats the clip I was looking for – I hadnt realised it was an audio rather than video clip but an excellent montage of photos to go with the commentary.
Mark 🙂
Probably at Thunder City in South Africa. They have been trying to sell the fleet for sometime. Several videos on Utube.
mmitch.
Thanks Mitch, this was a Yorkshire newspaper reporter who recorded the walk round, start up etc.
This would be the engine recovery vid. 🙂
What an incredibly clear bit of footage, the condition of the engines is excellent bearing in mind how long they were down there.
A fascinating piece of TV, very informative and well worth watching.
The airshow has been cancelled unfortunately. Seemingly they needed £65000 to run it and were only able to get about half of that. Any lottery winners out there?
Jim
Thats a shame, I have many happy memories of Teeside Airshow in the 70’s when I lived up there – the only place I have ever seen a Lightning fly.
