    But surely, and I hasten to add I am not being provocative, the Christian has ultimate faith in God and may not understand why God works as he does. That is what faith means, isn’t it.

    I am not sure that a doubting, questioning, Christian is a true Christian. And that, of course, is where believers and non-believers begin to converge.

    BB – the answer, for a Christian, surely is that “it is God’s will”, isn’t it? Isn’t that the Christian’s way of dealing with so-called divine intervention?

    Bad luck, Blue – hope it’s a flash in the pan and peace returns ere long. Luckily we both ran out of steam when we collected our bus passes so, having been through fire, tempest and hurricane, and just about survived, Mrs J and self rub along in relative peace these days.
