You won’t be too happy when Sharia law is eventually fully introduced into the UK then?

Firstly if it is, it will only be to a limited extent within the parametres of UK law and secondly it will only apply to Muslims. I am not a Muslim, so what they do within their religious context is up to them. However I am totally opposed to any laws operating here, other than indigenous UK law.

The BRITISH sold out!! Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness decommissioned one of the most effective and powerful paramilitary organisations in the world and signed up to a unionist dominated parliament which is not going to lead to a united Ireland free from British rule. Now I do not condone violence at all but the only people who sold out are Sinn Fein! The Brits got exactly what they wanted!

Yes, SOLD OUT, in case you misunderstood. And thank goodness, for the majority of Ulstermen, there will not be a united Ireland. That’s about all IRA/Sinn Fein didn’t get out of it.

So far he has got off lightly hopefully more to come.
Yes its uncivilised but he wasn’t very civilisied when he presumably thought he would get away with it.
He made his bed now its time to lie in it..

What a frightening attitude. But there are plenty of other “floggers and hangers around” so you are not alone.

To be fair, Joey, they did ban ALL neck ornaments – not just crosses, which would have been stupid.

And what have the government got to do with it? BA were privatised ages ago. There are some things that you can’t blame Brown for, you know! :p

Ah, didn’t realise that. A decision which only enforces my point of view. I was not suggesting that BA were instructed by the government, simply that that is the ethos created by the government which organisations feel obliged to adhere to in case they fall foul of the law in not dong so.

I presume BA will ban any passenger outwardly displaying signs of a religious or ethnic content. I utterley despair of this moronic PC, multi-cultural world which has been forced upon us by an equally moronic government.

What he did to that little boy was not civilised was it ? These days the punishment does not fit the crime. On top of that prison is not as hard as it used to be. For gods sake they have tellys in their cells. This monster got what he deserved and I applaud whoever did it ! And yes I do think it should be an eye for an eye. It would drastically cut down violent and abusive crime.

No, of course it wasn’t but, the revenge, in anger, is equally uncivilised. It’s a trite cliche, but two wrongs do not make a right. So, you are obviously in favour of capital punishment, and presumably the perpetrator would have to die in the same manner in which he or she killed. And perpetrators of GBH would be beaten up before being imprisoned, I suppose.

One of the things I am enjoying about this thread is being reminded of the amusing commercials I had forgotten!:)

Is revenge – an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, necessarily justice? A violent act begetting another violent act has not moved us on in a civilised society, has it?
