What will cost, to buy, men and maintenance

the f22 will not cheap to mantein, it have low bomb payload (so to keep the low rcs -not stealth- advantage you need loooots of raptors ) again modern mobile sams are sistem-network ,even sams are more stealth (pasive net-separate radar-sams ), f22 needs a loot of suport, those planes are very, very, very dependent on awacs, with raptors radars almost off ( the detection-combat range surely will decrease)

About the su27 vs raptors, obiusly the flankers will have numerical superiority (in fair terms), so you can play in pasive formations with an active radar su 27 (and different radar incedences), but again we are comparing planes of diferent generations, i doubt the capacibility of the raptor to keep low rcs-ir signal in supercruiser

The raptor is an good machine, but very overated

Well……..about the cost, it could eventuality reduced with the production of variants (fb22)???????

    two precitions….

    1) 1.44 proyect is not stealth (maybe it have some LO techs -i doubt-)

    2) f22 is also not stealth, is supercruiser design in part modified to stealth techs

And………… when this discusion turn in an 1.44 thread????

Sens, its funny the way in which you try to keep alive youre hopes

to almost your arguments i will say only pst…….comon Sens…….

The stacionary sams sistems have weak points (but remember the data link) mobile sams are an headache to any boomer, the problem of low level attack is that the boomers dont have enought space to tactics (everybody knows where boomers goes),also you have predetermined position of the boomers, you can put easely mobile sams in strategic positions and play with pasive-active radar tactics (to mantain some sam launchers hide),also remember awacs and other stuffs…i mean the b1b must destroy all the horde (or an good proportion) of sa6,sa10,aaa,ir missilemen, radar-sistems,etc.., the radius that youre talking (or writing) is the detect-data process, etc radius, but not the missile range (that missile can be guided by the data of other radar emisor) the problem is not the position of the radars, is the posithion of the sams(missiles-receivers), again you must consider that sams is basicaly an system, is not an b1 or b2 against an unique sa6.

I know you like/use far away arguments

Man, in a topic like this , you must think in a global way..

Im sure that the main boomers task is “target destroy confirmation”,not that preemntive attack

Zeppelines can be used as radar reflectors???? (for low level target traking)

Sens,Sens,Sens,Sens, puffffff, man if you shot an missile from 10000 mts against an low level target, the missile have more range, because it have an ballistic trayectorie……….pufffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff……Sens,Sens,Sens……

About the Sam against b1,b2, man you are not comparing in the real way is not an sam against b1,b2, tu160, is sam sistem against boomers sistems, analise that more deeper, please…..

I think that the reason of big proportion of USA winged nukes, is the almost dependence of SLBMs that are not soo precise and the nukeheads arent so powerful, so after the “target destroy confirmation” -and if the slbms fail- you need boomers (suposeli in that time the sams radar infrastructure must be destroyed) ,to end the work, the b2 was designed by the fear of mobile sams, obiously those techic-propaganda books will always say that the b1b is the superboomer, and the b2 is more stealth that the wonder woman plane, and that preemtive attack mith…obiusly

Again strategic boomers are very predectible i really doubt about the first strike capacibilities of the b2 or b1 or any boomer, and i doubt a looot more against mobile targets (there also decoys, and the shoot range is very lower), so i think that the only thing that you can do is go fast and high, and start to praise, with ecm….

Ground-clutter reduces the effectivity and performances of every radar. Even look-down/shoot-down does not work always

Again the rutes at low level are very limited, well everything in this world dont work always, at low level you can shootdowned by radar, ir missiles, aaa, woods, stones, and birds, also at low level air-air missiles have more range, i prefer go high and fast, fighting with powerful ecm, maybe using an effective CIWS

well,is hard to analyse the polemic between tu160 and b1 rcs, both planes have the same shape, so i cant made an objetive comparation lacking of evidences, but i dont think that both are significant stealth.

Sens, about the cruiser speed, well maybe you dont understand that those planes are normaly in patrol in some strategic areas, and those areas get near in critical situations, so well, when the apocalipsis starts, is time to run like hell!!!! to the launching positions, the b2 suposely have the stealth advantage, but it disapears with the position info tracking in the patrol area (easy with radars, sattelite, ships, aicraft etc) is just too slow and too predectible, low level attack is an bad idea you have less range, and exposed to more weapons, also the speed of low level is relative, i mean with all the maniouvres avoiding obstacules, i think that the max low level speed is rarely achieved, anyway i dont like all strategic bombers (tu160,b1,b2,etc)

b1 and tu160 are not stealth, b2 low speed is an very very big tactical disadvantage and even is not competely stealth, also is black, and an prety black body, anyway strategic bombers suck…

the n-bomb radiation is not so persistent, that effect happens when the neutrons collide with specifics atoms and produce radiactive isotopes (like cobalt,cecium,uranium=stroncium-iode etc),but with other atoms like carbon, silicium, nitrogen, iron (low cycle radiation isotopes), and others doesnt make significant residual radiation

Thanks to all for the replies, there are not modern investigations of radar mounted zeppelin to protect carriers convoes????, i think that it could be an better solution (defensive) against low level missiles, and the awacs should be used in offensive operations, there problems with the helium-hidrogen, but i dont remember the load of the russian termoplane (that uses hot air in an very special design) maybe theres the solution…

Take it easy SOC, 😀 , youre very explosive, well that topic was very, very, very clear 😉 ….it have an good agility (remember that is only an 70s-60s plane), about the “idiots” man, i dont refered about you, only about those “experts”, politics, media and “patriots”

About the missiles, well i found very hard to compare by the hardware (propulsion, radar, aerodesign, etc…), i think that the 50% or more of the sucess of an missile is by the software, yes, maths, maths, maths, and more maths there is not information about the basic iterative logic in such sistems????, the information net data-link design????, i think that is more an discussion for an sistem analist, the range and other data is relative with the start speed and heigh.
