Well that surprise noise level start -oficially- with the victor3 class (but the yankees class in fact were quiet subs) there are an huge propaganda-interpretations in this topic

    flex, SOC……comon..

A friend of mine just argued that the Tu-160 has become more of a display model, a status symbol

i dont agreed Ink, you must understand that rocket tech is not very reliable (definitivily), so you need an “redundat” nuke sistem (air-bomers), bomers (ALL) are not useful against an decent air force, obiusly one thing is the real world and other is an ilusion (preemtive attac) that only works to sell magazines with corporative advertising

tailplanes are for increase the control and stabilitation of the plane, it have diferent funtions, the new designs are more fast and needs more stabilitation in high aoa the tailplanes play an very important role, also theris influence in the shape of the plane and the “vacuum shadow” (high wing and rectangular fuselage have an special effect) in manoeuvres, so is not a good idea using an single tailplane in some designs, also are useful in high speed control, but there are other reasons that depends of the whole plane design.

Even the Hubble is rumored or said will be retired

the hubble is one of the modern tech wonders, but it works only in the optic spectre, IR systems works much better in the universe scaning

    Interesting Rajskhalsa,

The design is basicaly good for general 5 generation requierements, but im worried by the vertical fins that although are good for stealth that design could give problems in the planes agility, also i cannot see the intakes-lower fuselage shape, i dont trust in single engine for supercruise (for me is better the use of 2 relative low powered engines) but the overall aspect is good, theris not still any draw of the pakfa?????

True , but the US subs are more silent and more capable than its Russian counterpart ,

thats debatible, subs tactics and tech are very, very more complex than “the hunt of the red october”, anyway thats for another thread.

I didn’t see anyone really challenge his views.

I really dont care Hyper, look the scientific comunity have an polemic about the nature of the Tyranosaryus Rex, most of scientifics says that is an pretator, only one with an huge cuantifi of scientific evidences says that is an scavenging-carrion animal, i believe in the second, because he has done an objetive analysis, but the others only have that preconceived idea that an big scary-looking animal (with industry-hollywwod-media feed) isn an hunter-killer, the scientific has tried to make an open discusion about it (there have 15 years )

It seems it is not the american style stealth

what you try to say with that????? stealth is stealth in any style

You guys lives in an fantasy land, well, maybe i dont have 20 books of the raptor, maybe i dont have all my bedrooms walls filled of f22 posters, maybe i dont have 200 photos of the atf in my hard disk, but i have knowledge, we have knowledge, i never said that the f22 have an rcs of an zeppelin, i only said that is not sooooooo stealth as some interested sources constanty repeat…..

if we cannot trust what they say, then everything we are talking about is moot

Well we have brains, we are inteligent, take an book of electromagnetics, termodynamics, aerodynamics, mechanics, and analyse, this is an forum, we can discuss that out off those mind-hurting propaganda and “official reports”

about the sub question, well i think that the victor have more probabilities of detect first the LA and specialy in this scenarie, but i dont know how are the chineses subs and how are equiped, that depens of tactics and especially relative deep, but there are probabilities in wich both subs dont detect the other, the victor hide in the patrol speed-more dived, and the LA hide in the carrier noise….at the end both subs crashs πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

CIWS are good against those stufs RRRRRRAAAATATATATATATATATA, πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ theres any ground based CIWS sistem????

Maybe an good tactic could fix the position of the radar antenna making an prudent angle with the trayectorie of the missile -no face to face- ,with the ionosphere reflexing the radar could give an fake position of the antenna, but there radars that cannot operate without the tipical 360ΒΊ round, maybe that tactic could be succefull, maybe….

Well, about the turboeclectric i mean, the use of electric diname-generator to avoid noisly gearing, about the mini-pumps, is the use of transversal tubes with pumps to make an water side-side flow (that sistem is used in some surface ships to increase manuverability), about the mini-props, well i dont think that the practical use for increase speed ,small props are uneficient at high revolutions(HR)-you need HR to an efective energy transfer-, the use of such sistem is in patrol speeds (3-5 knots-low revolution-), instead big propels are uneficient at low revolutions, maybe also could be used with the main propel to reach 1-2knobs-plus.

You put an very very good point about the MAD, but you must consider also that such sistems use the relative movement of an body in the earth magnetic field, so if the sensor is not in an relative movement with the sub, theres not interference, anyway KOLOS for me are still an mistery

    Regards.

    – It requires massive power
Right (but thats relative if the plasma is focused)

    – It blinds aircraft’s own radar
    Right

    – It creates a glow around the aircraft

Wrong, mot people think that plasma is neon light tubes, but only some elements shine in specifis exitation-ionic energies, oxigen and nitrogen dont glow at such energies (gas-iode, neon, hidrogen, etc… does)

It has also been said that F-22 has been designed under the dual-constraint optimization problem of stealth and manuverability and is as manuverable as any other aircraft in the world

Well, the plane is not soooo agile, but it have reduced rcs (nothing out of this world), the main concept is supercruiser

well everybody knows that smart bombs arent sooo smart…..also you cant destroy an airfield with those stuffs…raptors arent sooo stealth, and radar, well you must think is off or is on?, i mean if the sistem have those “special features“, energy is energy in the long way it must be pasive to keep hide, obviusly the raptor is more advanced than the flankis, but is not an dramatical step in the airspace tech…

Thanks Severo, well there are some interesting things about the cutaway that i would discuss,

    1) nuclear cores (2) in tandem (side-side) position???
    2) theres any signal of turboelectric sistem???
    3) we can see those smalls mini-props to patrol speeds.
    4) theris signal of tipical russian mini pump-tunnel maneuvre sistems???
    5) item 49?????
    6) how many tipes of periscopes uses???

Well, there are other open questions, KOLOS sistem???, suposely it tries independence of the very untrusted sonar, but i cant think in other better pasive detection than MAD, its posible the use of magnetic anomalies to detect subs from other sub???, well an more easier questions, victor3 dive deep??? (dive deep increase the eficiency of LF sonar (not MF), and stealth -thermal,dinamic flow layers)
