C’mon Dave lift your game…you’re slipping behind the eight ball lately
I’ve always thought Love will tear us apart was one of the truly great pop songs.specially considering Ian Curtis’ tragic suicide.Nice to hear it again .

Can’t say it worries me particularly.
We’ve all got very squeamish about dying (the one activity we will all of us participate in) over the years.
People used to die at home, the dead body would be laid out in the parlour, neighbours would pop around to pay respects.
Today we hide death away. I’m not sure we have it right.
Moggy
Being laid out tidily at home so people who knew you can pay their respects is fine.Being photographed hooked up to medical equipment, possibly taking your last breath, and having said photo put on the cover of a magazine isn’t quite so dignified .

Why, when so many people clearly loathe and despise the things, do people persist in including them in the traditional Christmas dinner? Ditto olives on pizzas and sliced gherkins in Big Macs (apparently :o) when so many people leave them anyway?
I bet you’re still a mere lad. It’s a fact that your tastes change as you get older,I used to think the same about olives and now I can’t get enough of the little black beauties.Gherkins though, what’s the point of them ?

When my daughter was small she described heaven as being a place where chocolate grows on trees and there are vegetables, but no sprouts.I would have thought the devil’s vegetable would have to be garlic because you either love it or hate it .

The trouble with cancer is that it’s such a complex illness that the same treatment can be astonishingly successful for one person but completely ineffective for someone else. When my brother-in-law got prostate cancer he went to a self-help centre which very strongly sold him the idea that if he followed their suggestions alongside conventional medicine he had an excellent chance of beating the disease. The result was that his last eighteen months were made a complete misery because he had to look twice at every mouthful he ate,and couldn’t have the little treats that he loved.Yet other men who followed the same regime are still alive today.I’d say anything that increases our knowledge of cancer has to be a good thing .
