“……large proportion of money in the UK…..”

How much exactly? I’d like you to tell me.

You asked Derekf how much money was spent in the UK.

    The answer is,forty per cent.

I am close to bringing out the usual rant that men don’t listen properly.

The other sixty per cent goes to projects in Africa.

As I understand it,from the brief time my husband was watching yesterday’s broadcast, 100% of the money donated is given to charitable projects.
The cost of administration is supplied separately by corporate and individual donations.

Is there a particular reason why somebody needs to tell you ?

It was one woman who took offence at a product and asked the manufacturer to change it.

Far be it from me to state the blindingly obvious, but it was one woman who expressed offence.

It’s possible that amongst the thousands of people who use this product, there are other people who are of short stature themselves,or have a family member who is.
Were these people protesting in large numbers ? If they were, that would be good enough reason to change the name.
If they weren’t,doesn’t that suggest that they weren’t bothered about it ?

    Midget Gem,anyone ?:dev2:

I’d also like to point out that I’m not all that far off being a m****t myself,so I don’t mind eating those sweets 🙂

Is it this ? ( Ranger magazine ).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranger_(magazine)

Actually the link’s a bit weird, you have to click on the first line where it says Ranger ( magazine )

( I’m a female with obviously too much time on my hands 🙂 ).

Blimey,I knew the forum was full of experts but I didn’t expect a reply so soon.

    Thanks Kev,as I said I didn’t have a clue where to look.

I’m proud to have this family link to Bomber Command, however distant. Likewise with my great-grandfather who served at Gallipoli.
I just wish I’d thought to start this family research when there were still relatives alive to tell me their memories.

    Cheers, Anne

From Carry on Doctor, as Hattie Jacques’ Matron makes eyes at a reluctant Kenneth Williams’ Doctor –

He : You may not realise it,but I was once a weak man .

    She : Oh don’t worry,once a week’s enough for any man !
