    Nuff said!

    Goodbye!

Well then if they have been there a year, are legally below the minimum height then it is plain and simply Pilot Error…

The fact they are there is not good, but they are there and are known about, hence the only logical conclusion, Pilot error, he was flying low and below the minimum height.

What a ludicrous comment. You are seriously suggesting that all anyone who went to Waddington today has to do to get a refund is to cite the fact that the Vulcan didn’t display? And they should be refunded any travelling or accommodation expenses? How absurd. Would you then suggest that anyone who went to see a play or theatre show is entitled to a refund because the understudy performed?

Somewhere on that Waddington ticket will be a statement to the effect that the display line up is subject to change.

Your another that posts selective quotes and not the whole thing……

If you read my original post which you have systmatically adjusted to your own ends

then they should have informed the General public well before the night prior to the show, so they could save the expense of travelling and seen about getting a refund”

I am saying if as was the case the renewal was listed to be completed by the 14th of this month and so the chances of the thing flying were nigh on impossible as is the case, they should have informed the public a week ago to say it would probably not display.

Those that had booked overnight accomodaton or train and rail tickets, would then of been in a position if they duly wished had time too cancel their accomodation bookings or travel tickets and possibly recieve a refund, all be it losing their deposits, BUT to have travelled up as in one case from South Wales to be told on the gate the one reason they had come was going to be little more than window dressing could have been avoided and the expense of fuel, hotel bills or train or coach travel would have been avoided for them, as would of some of the bad feeling, telling someone on the gate or on the show radio after they have spent money to get there is not only p*ss poor management on the TVOC’s Behalf but negative publicity and a loss of good faith from those that have paid to keep it in the air…….

They knew in advance the chances of it getting a permit were next to NIL but still flew it to Waddington to try and maximise their revenue earning possibilities whilst it is in the static at the detriment to those that support it, finance it, and spent hard cash to get there to see it fly, something they knew would not happen.. That is what is wrong and that is why the Chief Engineer, Phleming and the Management should stand down.

    TonyT.

Why on earth do you think people should be given a refund if the Vulcan doesn’t appear? Biggin Hill would have fared badly last Sunday then with the absence, IIRC, of the Vulcan, Lancaster, Skyraider, Sea Vixen and a Gnat. I thought it was made clear that all displays are subject to change for any number of unspecified reasons?

“We are after all paying their wages!!! “

    Then more fool you!

    kev35

Correct me If I am wrong but public monies in the way of Lottery Grants have been used to prop up this, so we all are supporting it, even if you have not added any other funds,

Refunds need not just cover access, though If as some have paid simply to see it display, then they should be, but also for accomodation, transport etc.

    TonyT.

I think perhaps you haven’t read this properly…..

A year ago, the CAA said that before the next Permit to Fly renewal (3 Jul 2009) investigative work had to be completed on Vulcan 603 at BAES Woodford – an aircraft owned by BAES, not VTST. This was not work that VTST had to carry out – or even could do, since it was not their aircraft.

Despite many reminders, or possibly even badgering, from VTST, the work was not carried out. VTST was given to understand, however, that some flexibility could be available for a temporary extension of the PTF. This turned out, late on Friday, not to be the case

Cor look at me sticking up for VTST.

I am a licenced Engineer with over 35 years in the business and have worked on Military and Civil, Sorry but when B*llsh*t is being shovelled I can smell it a mile off, and believe me that is B*llsh*t and buckpassing at its finest……..

If they knew it was not going to be ready as they did (and the application clearly states the 14th of this month) then they should have informed the General public well before the night prior to the show, so they could save the expense of travelling and seen about getting a refund…. This they did not do, so they have NO EXCUSES, all this has done is lose their credibility and also Tarnish the Reputation of the Waddington Show, and as such Flemming however it is spelt and the rest of the management croonies should resign forthwith. We are after all paying their wages!!!

They should resign, it is their own doing, you can apply for a permit up to a month before the old one expires…….. as long as the work has been completed, which assuming it has been as they are saying it is servicable, then it should of all been in place………….

No Excuses and buck passing, you are supported by the public and funded by the same people, what you have done has no excuses and you should go!

MP’s have learnt that same lesson of late……..

You do not want to be throwing any stuff on like from “B and Q” tems, it has the grit on that will be hard and in all probability will damage the skins when walked on.

Piper do a walkway that extends the with of a Cherokee wing width, it is the 3M self adhesive sheet in black. Piper UK might help there.

others are try http://www.adamsaviation.com/ as they do it too in tolls, but make sure you get the adhesive stuff, I have a sheet on none adhesive lying around at work and it is think.

You could also try 3M as they will sell it to you, but its as a lot of things in life is not cheap. This is the type of suff, but is probably far to narrow for your needs. ask them!
