Summer this year has bean cancelled by the weather. Great to see you back here Andy. 🙂
Great set of pics in particular the legendary actors Richard Todd and Michael Redgrave. Just Brilliant. Really made the Dambusters an epic movie I still watch it regularly. I would think it would be hard to replace these two in a remake these days.
Excellent job! Well done Mark.
Great, thanks for the heads up. Video stream keeps stalling could be my internet connection.
Great video thanks for posting I remember well the aeroplane’s and cars of the 1970’s era. And the British Caledonian BAC111 Went to Paris in one during the time many high jacking’s were going on. Great aeroplane though very noisy reverse thrust.
Would loved to have been there. Thanks for the photos redhillwings. Always been fascinated with German WW2 UXB’s since watching the TV Series “Danger UXB” Umpteen times over.
I don’t know to much about Folland themselves. But for me the Folland Gnat T1 Trainer was the best ever aeroplane in the RAF. Worked with them RAF Valley late 1960,s.
For me the VC10 is still the best ever looking aeroplane ever built and in its BOAC Livery.
I agree. so I think I would settle for a Harrier jet for pleasure flight’s instead. I see from a website they are doing pleasure flights in a Mig jet in Russia only 10 grand for 25 minutes you can have a go at flying the aeroplane and see the curvature of the Earth. Bargain! :very_drunk:
Would be great if it is restored to flying condition and in BOAC Livery. If I won the euro millions I would buy one with the idea of running pleasure flights though I don’t think somehow the CAA Would agree to it in this country.
Stowaways in undercarriage bays seem to be all to common these days. Has anyone ever survived? I supposed they must wait till dark when the aircraft leaves the terminal and board somewhere along the taxi way. They must know the freezing conditions and lack of oxygen at 30 thousand plus feet.
Agreed. Very impressive Mike. Very well Done!
Doesn’t look much like an aeroplane to me probably a small boat hull maybe. I can see why the media would report it as a possible WW2 aeroplane. The article would be of interest to most of us and entice more people to read it. But a story about the wreck of some possible yacht or boat hull found, most would ignore it.
Brilliant! Well Done!
How about the flying sequences in “The Dambusters”, “633 Squadron”, “Tora, Tora, Tora”, and “The Battle of Britain”. In fact I enjoy any flying sequences shot using REAL aircraft, instead of CGI ones.
The great thing that made these films was they didn’t have computer generated special effects in those days. Far more authentic. The remakes of some movies for me using computer generated effects have been a complete disaster.
