The Worldbackgrounds footage was used extensively in the history channels three part series on the Battle of Britain, which is available on DVD.

Here’s a few more photos, thanks Gobal express.:)

Thanks Guys,
tbyguy,
The Fw 190 taxied from its position on the line to a parking slot, whereupon it was put to good use fund raising for the Blenheim rebuild.
Global express, all the photos were taken with a Nikon D200 and a Nikon 300mm f2.8 lens.

Great news and thanks for the link.
Anyone know how long 213 has been off the circuit ?

Hi Mark, thanks for posting this great shot.
Finally this photo will clear up the myth that LF363 did not fly in the film ‘Angels One Five’.
LF363 was given the white tail band camouflage scheme in about 1957, prior to this date the aircraft was painted in an overall silver dope scheme.

Hi John,
Glad to hear that you went the Nikon route, I’ve had the D200 for about 18 months now and have been really pleased with the results.
I’m surprised to hear that you can’t use Rawshooter to convert the raw files as I use Rawshooter Essentials 2006 which works fine for me.
Regarding lens choice, I have two short zooms a Sigma 17-70mm 17-70 f2.8-4.5 DC which works very well in low light and a Nikon 18-200 3.5 5.6 G IFED AFS VR DX which is very versatile lens and is great for low light conditions.
The two aspects of the D200 that I don’t like are; 1. cleaning the sensor, it was far easier on my earlier D100. 2. Battery life isn’t very good, get a spare.
All the best

Thanks 92fis,

Thank you so much for posting this story, and these photographs. They gave me such a lift, and I laughed out loud with joy at the images of Ken flying his autogyro. It has been a very difficult few days here in Blacksburg, Virginia, and this has really cheered me up. Thanks again for the wonderful story and photos.
Cheers,
Richard
Thanks Richard,
Its good to here that the thread has some remedial powers, Ken is a great example to us all.
Not to “bouncing” Barnes he’s not……;)
There may be a link between the families, Ken mentioned that has discussed this with Barnes Wallis’s daughter, although as yet a link has not been traced.
BTW; Ken was a former Wellington pilot!
And thanks once again for all the very kind comments.

[QUOTE=Jackonicko;
Wallis designed a slot car system that is far more elegant than Scalextrix.
And he’s a gentleman of the old school, too.
Totally agree with you on this one.

Here is that slot car system, a lack of battery power prevented its demonstration, apparently the cars could be steered around the track as opposed to having a guide in groove.
A couple of shots to finish, the idyllic nature of Reymerston Hall can be seen as Ken taxies back to the hangar.

Thanks for all the kind comments, I’m glad you liked them.

Thanks Curlyboy,
No visit to see Ken would be complete without a look at ‘Little Nellie’

The other book that JDK refers to is called ‘The Last Lanc’ by Patrick Kilvington, this follows the epic flight that NX611 made from Australia to the UK for preservation with the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society.
