The name Airfix will live on, I wouldn’t be suprised if the company ends up being owned a Chinese organisation, after all thats where the kits are made these days.

Great shame though, I thought they had turned the corner with some new and reworked kits, I even purchased a couple. Modelling is a great way to get kids interested in Aircraft etc, this doesn’t bode well for the future of our hobby!

What camera are you using Tony,

I have two Nikon DSLR bodies and they both tend to under expose. I have learnt from bitter experience not to trust the LCD.

Hi Gary,

Your 70-300 should work Ok with the D50 although if its anything like mine it may hunt around a bit while trying to focus on moving subjects.

There are some really cheap deals on D50’s at the moment, but have you considered a D70 S which is a better built and more capable camera. The D70s is about to be replaced soon by the D80 so prices will I’m sure drop even further.
