Staying on this TSR 2 theme, albeit on an audio note, I recently purchased a long play single(vinyl) titled ‘The Neil Williams Collection’ which featured a recording of the TSR2 taking off !

Along with the TSR 2 kit release Airfix are also releasing their reworked 48th scale Spitfire as a Mk IX complete with MH434 ZD-B markings.

I fear ‘Airline’ and ‘Whirlybirds’ were produced and broadcast well before the invention of the VCR.

The VCR was around at the time of the screening of Airline if you had a spare £600 + to spend.

Airline was a superb series that deserves a reissue as a DVD. It was just a shame the proposed second series was scrapped. If I remember rightly ‘Aces High’ had aleady obtained a Lockheed Constellation, which eventually found its way to the UK and joined the Science museum at Wroughton.

Incidentally the french Memorial flight are currently restoring the Le Bourget He 162.

The memorial Flight who are best known for their work on the rebuild and construction of WW1 aircraft will I’m sure be capable of producing a superbly restored fighter.
