Thanks for posting Maarvin,
I can’t wait to see the Pup fly it looks superb.

Nice shots Martin (if i’m allowed to say that!). I’ve got lots of good shots from the evening, but do I or don’t I post? 😀
I say post them Darren, this confusion should have been sorted out days ago.
Great shots Martin, wish I’d gone now, but 3 weeks on the bounce would not have well received on the home front!

Looking forward to flying the Fokker Triplane replica – a full size, faithful repro but with a modern engine. Too late for this season but hopefully at OW for the beginning of next.
Have I missed something, has the collection purchased a Tripe?

Thanks Niall, DB.
Sometimes I wonder why I stand and take 550 photos on cold and wet afternoons at Duxford, but then you get one shot that makes it all worthwhile. 🙂

PS. Is it still OK to post responses to the DX photo threads or are they now banned.
Finally the star of the show.

A further selection.
Great shots Darren,
Loved the ‘creative selection’ all we need now is the black labrador.

Hi fidgit 1,
Your not alone!
I used a Nikon d100 coupled to a 120-300 sigma lens with a sigma EX 2X converter a Duxford, out of 450 shots taken during the display theres only around thirty I’m really happy with. I tend to stick with a shutter of 1/250, but this does mean I loose a lot of shots to slight blur.
Unfortunately over the last few years the displays at Duxford have moved further away from the crowd line, at one time you could just about get away with an 80-200, these days you need ideally need 400mm. I just wish Nikon would copy Canons product range.
However with a 1.4 converter on the same set up and shutter speed still set at 1/250 the success rate drastically improves. I will reluctantly raise the shutter speed if I use the 2X converter again. There’s nothing worse than getting home to see all those great shots a touch out of focus.

Finally had the chance to look through the photos properly.
Here’s a few more including some from around the hangars.

I thought that MG could find it’s own way there…
I’m sure it could I just wish it would take me home too. The drive home is the worst part of going to airshows. 🙁

Lovely stuff Gary, it’s great to get everyone together again. Was it just me, or was did anyone else feel the spirit of Kighters moving amongst us?
Rob
Thanks Robbo,
‘Kighters’ may not have been their in person, but his spirit still lurks in the back of that old MG. It loves that drive to Old Warden so much it keeps frightening the punters away. I may ask the collection if I can hang it up next to the flying flea until Mr K returns.

Nice pics, but you definitely need to check the white balance on your camera (assuming it’s digital), as there’s a distinct blue hue over all your images. Nothing a bit of Photoshop can’t fix 🙂
It looks fine this end, maybe its your screen, white balance was set on sun setting for most of the day, but I know a lot of people who leave it on cloudy for a warmer end result. The camera was Nikon D100 which is rather rare amongst all these Canon users on this forum, maybe its just that.

Sorry to have missed you Niall.
I wasn’t being anti social or anything just wanted a slighty different flight line position. Otherwise all the posted shots start to look very similar, just varying in contrast and magnification.

Thanks Nial.
Darren I see that Nikon has missed the boat with the release of the D50 and D70s. Please Nikon upgrade the old D100. Hope to see you next weekend, not sure what day yet though.

Good shots Niall, hopefully bump into you at DX over the weekend.
