    RE: BA’s long haul 767’s

I agree T5, I thought PTV’s were part of the world traveller package but I’m not sure if they’ve updated their 767’s with them.

    Can anyone confirm this?

Is this a scheduled flight then, because I’ve seen it there fairly regularly. I would never have guessed at Iberworld.

It must be my eyes; or the way the livery works on that aircraft, but that doesn’t look big enough to be a 777!

    RE: Another Crash

Its wrong of me to say this, and I may be classed as prejudiced as a result, but I wouldn’t feel at all comfortable flying on a Russian aircraft and would actively try and not to fly with them.

Maybe its media-hype thats made me think like this, but I have to admit that I am, probably unecessarily, weary of them.

    Great news for Cardiff.

I’m very jealous of course, would love something scheduled and cheap around here.

    RE: ETOPS

OK then, forgive me naivity, but if most aircraft can have ETOPs certification fairly easily, why do most trans-atlantic flights follow the North Circle route, why don’t they just go straight across?

    RE: ETOPS

If its more fuel efficient to go a more direct route, why don’t more carriers certify more aircraft?

    It is cost related?

What are the practicalities of certifying an aircraft with ETOPs?

RE: The choices that Boeing has!

I personally see Boeing gradually losing market share over the coming years unless they come up with something new.

The 7X7 programme that I’ve heard about would also replace the 757 as I understand it, not just the 767.

I think the 7X7 programme is the answer and they also need to think about an A380 competitor. Yes, the 747 will comepete very nicely for the next ten years, but if the A380 really takes off and becomes operationally sound, I suspect the A380 will start to win hands down in 10 years +. Boeing really need to go along these lines IMO as no matter what anyone says about technological advances, the 747 will be an old aircraft by 2012.

    RE: Teesside News Update

I didn’t think the F50’s were that old. How old are they? What is there usual life-span?

    RE: Monarch

Looking at the schedules, the flight appears to be on a Whiskey run; though I don’t know from where.

Can anyone else shed any light on this and aircraft type?
