Sorry, Tornado – nothing personal but your arguments become more confusing with each post.
I’ll drop out of this thread before it’s too late…..not sure if it’s got anywhere to go anyway……;)
You are mixing up at least three separate arguments and missing out some other very key economic reasons for incresaing imports, none of which have anything to do with PC or H&S.

Still grounded as mentioned above due to insurance and other costs which were unsustainable.
Sky High. Pete, I could tell you a very similar story, even EARLIER than that, it’s been allowed to creep in under the Radar, instead of some sensible minded person throwing the OFF switch.
Jim..
Lincoln .7
So the problem has been with us for a lot longer than I had imagined and precedes the pervasive “multiculteralism” which has been growing in more recent years. I suppose many years ago the incidents were isolated and fewer people were aware of it or affected by it.

but they are one in the same !! it all starts with overpaid middleclass government employees with little to do and justifying jobs for the boys
you realy do need to sit back and observe
they will tell you any bull**it if it keeps them in a large suburban semmi with 2.4 kids and a bmw and range rover
our local government is finding ways of dropping folks that actualy work in one department but has taken on 3 extra bosses
extra bosses for less staff ???? that my friend is where pc is comming from !!
and why anyone who is sane will never win if people are mentaly defficent they are ideal for local authority positions
Picking up from my last post – now you have lost me. I am struggling to understand your point, but cannot see its relevance to what we are debating.

Linc – that is a helpful response to Arthur’s point about PC not affecting our daily lives. In your case it definitey did. I should be interested in his comment, if he cares to respond.
And what is particularly significant is that it happened nearly 20 years ago. If you had asked me I don’t think I would have guessed that this sort of nonsense happended as long ago as that.
And Tornado – yes, I would echo the general sense of your point, despite the eccentric presentation!;) And at least you are no longer linking it to H&S regulations.

People who are unable to distinguish between the two and who rant on mercilesly about them being the cause of the state the UK is in are the ones whom it is too late to save.
I totally accept that H&S regulations are abused and have become fair game for lawyers and the courts. But that has nothing whatsoever to do with the creeping fear of upsetting people or beliefs by contravening the “PC” stance on a given situation.

You are of course right about H&S, a point I made at the beginning of the thread. Although I believe that the good intentions of the regulations have been usurped. But that is for another thread.
The direct answer to your question about PC affecting our daily lives is probably very little. However there are many things with which we disagree or feel should be done differently, which do not affect us on a daily basis. Are we to be precluded from criticising things simply because they do not affect us on a daily basis?

Unfortunate slight camera shake.
