The thought that England might beat France at Twickenham today…….:D
PETE, If you have a brilliant mind as you quote, you can use BIG words that only another brilliant mind can understand, (Without the use of Google!!)
As the old saying goes..”You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear”.Lincoln .7 😉

I don’t the size of the word means anything. Remember the late great Hancock and the episode where he was struggling to read Bertrand Russell. He knew all the words but couldn’t make sense of them as Russell had written them. He decided to watch TV instead……..:)

It is about spending priorities and I don’t happen to believe that the coalition Government is able to make the decisions it should or wants to because the majority members are always having to look over their shoulders at the junior partner which keeps them afloat.
It’s a mess and has resulted in one of the worst Defence Reviews I can recall. And I learned today that had the Cumberland not, by good fortune, been where it was en route home to a scrapyard, it would not have been able to embark those feeling Benghazi to Malta!!
I don’t think that having a brilliant mind has anything to do with communicating a point of view. I can think of highly intelligent, creative thinkers who find it difficult to communicate their knowledge. There will be others with an ability to communicate ideas, not necessarily their own, to others. Good teachers fall into the latter category.

Very much so and how that square’s with PeeDee’s view of Libya, following time spent there, in earlier posts I cannot imagine.

Perhaps we have been forced into intolerance because the culture which bred our sense of tolerance is no more.

Would the British economic climate be any better if the UK was overrun by the Germans in 1940?
Far worse – we would be locked into the Eurozone.

Fondly remembered and I think the longest serving character in the series – he even appeared in the Sarah Jane spin off.
