Quite right, Linc – we can only express our own opinion and I totally accept that it is a very popular sport. But returnng to the OP’s point, as I said earlier the deal is done between the BBC and Sky up to 2018, so I don’t see the point of the petition.

I just preferred the old “seat-of-the-pants” driving when it was 80% driver and 20% car. Now it’s 95% car and 5% driver.:(

In terms of sheer power and performance it was comparable to the Lightning but was developed more recently. My impression from seeing both of them perform was that the Viggen was much more manoeuvrable than the Lightning. It would need to be set against the Phantom I suppose as a direct rival. Personally I thought it was a “very mean machine”!
