I too am about to venture back into model flying after a very, very long interval! And it will definitely be electric. Many of you refer to the foamies – just how good are they and how do they fare in bad landings/crashes. None are that cheap, so I was wondering about value for money. And are they a good place for me to re-start?:):)
Sky High – I believe it might have been one of the visiting stall holders (perhaps Bamel ) that had the cards for sale; rather than the museum shop!
Ach, never mind – c’est la vie. But clearly NAM is a good potential ongoing source so I will keep in touch with Mrs Blackmore.:)
Twin Otter – thanks for that information – once you know more I must try to get myself up to Newark as the Museum looks very interesting, quite apart from the goodies in the shop! And I am keenly awaiting the arrival of the cards I bought last week.:)
Bamel – thanks for that lead – I will phone the shop this morning.:)
The Real Global Warming Disaster by Christopher Booker, which should be required reading for global political elite.
And the wonderfully detailed and eminently satisfying Miles Aircraft – The Early Years. Expensive but worth every penny.:D
Yes there is an ARF,3ft wingspan.seen it flying at soccer fld this summer.
Thanks – but are you in Canada……????
Sky High, i would heartily recommend Battle of Britain II Wings of Victory. The flight controls are good on keyboard and joystick, the effects are second to none i know of and now with the texture packs and updates on another thread in fight sim makes it head and shoulders above others. A/C are Bf110, Bf109, JU87 (Luftwaffe pilot), JU88, HE111, Do17 (Luftwaffe Gunners) with the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire representing the RAF. Campaigns are all unique each time with 4 stages of the battle as a individual campaign. I bought it last year for well under £10. btw if you cant find the updates just look through all my posts.
hope this helps =]

Alex – this is going to run on Windows 7 – 64bit. I cannot find any information which will confirm that this will not be a problem. Do you know, or do you know of a source I could contact to find out?:)
Ooh, I think it does. Many thanks.:D:D

I’ll see what I can find!
Good man!

🙂 Gald to be of assistance – should I be looking out for more cards on Saturday? 😀
Maybe……..but I will have a good sort through once I receive them to avoid too much duplication. You could certainly look out for the sihouette cards, of which there are only 11 in the shop at the moment.:D:D
Wednesday 4th November – I see in my TV guide that Andrew Marr’s “The Making of Modern Britain” tonight on BBC2 at 21.00 includes “…men took to the skies in their magnificent flying machines for the first time…”
Doubt if there will be anything new but might be worth a look.
Roger Smith.
Mmm – not sure. Marr has a rather idiosynchratic view on things and I do not think he is not a great cherisher of this type of individual endeavour, but I hope I am wronging him. If you watch it let me know – I would happily be proved wrong, but I have not enjoyed some of his previous offerings.:(
:diablo: That’s him for the high jump then!!
I saw the cards on Tuesday – they have been taken off sale and are sat on the Shop Managers desk waiting for your call – sorry that she’s not working today!
I have finally spoken to Mrs Blackmore and the deed is done! She has 225 photo cards and 11 silhouette recce cards and I am sending a cheque for the lot.
Many thanks for your help and once I have them and sorted them I might ask you/her to keep specific cards by should more come into her hands.:D:D:D:D
Alan Johnson, Stephen Fry, George Brown, the Indian at the bank call-centre, lazy drivers who don’t know the width of their cars and signal after making a turn, local traffic wardens, lorries that try to overtake other lorries but at the same speed, and the list goes on. But on the other hand there are lots of things which make me sing every day!

Chox and patB – gosh those are serious diatribes and clearly deeply felt. But isn’t it better to ignore verbal abuse if you don’t like it? What many “older” heterosexuals probably feel is that if a minority have different sexual inclinations, that’s fine, but do the rest of us want to hear about all the time.
Homosexuals now have full legal acceptability, they can “marry” and heaven forfend, they can even rear children.
I have a number of homosexual friends as well as heterosexual friends. But they are all friends and the sexuality of any is never a matter of conversation.
Gay rights groups and gay rights marches and gay rights agendas are, I suspect, what irritate Clarkson et al.
