    Hi Melve

Given some of the issues there from time to time I was probably suggesting it be called the wan**rs of the North

But that is probably a bit rude and irreverant

    Kindest regards

    Hi TJ

Is it true that Setter has been seen around Tucson in a dodgy trenchcoat with the large suitcase, ready to “lift” another warbird from its country of origin…? Hmmm… Actually, it is good to see that the trend of warbirds being traded worldwide is still very much in effect. We have all gained by that!

It is not a “dodgy” trench coat – it is a Burbery one with real class and is very comfortable and has lots of nice big pockets for putting bits of aircraft in.

I used to get worried about all of the historic aircraft leaving Australia but now it doesn’t bother me and i think on balance these days we bat well above our weight in Warbirds. Only one export bothers me these days and that is the nearly complete Oscar now in the US. That aircraft is of huge importance to Australia. It is the only surviving complete aircraft to have attacked Australia and as such I cannot comprehend how it ever obtained an export permit – I would love to see the basis on which that was authorised.

TJ on balance however you are completely correct and all the movement of aircraft is very positive , Well said.

Kiwi rivalry huh – well a lot of blood and beer has been spilt there – still at the moment Aus and NZ seem to have captured the world championship of Warbirds so I guess I don’t need to start a Kiwi beating thread. Love NZ anyway so I can’t wait till WoW next year.

So what are your areas of interest?

    Hi

I think next years WoW would be pushing things – the wing will be a mammoth exercise in it’s own right but the one after that is a possability I would have thought – wow to see this thing screaming around those snow capped mountains – now thats worth seeing !!!

Be interesting to see what fronts at Wanaka next year – one surprise I know of will blow a few socks off!! and the Ex Brietling aircraft are all still there plus a few more P40’s and the new Yak 3 – I have already booked – I reckon it should be called Warbirds over Wanaka – The legends of the South.

This is very nice work and fast too!!!

When does the next fuselage go into the jigs /moulds – I imagine these are the sort of things you could parallel produce – fitting one out whilst the next is being laid up etc

Does anybody know how the wing is progressing or are they concentrating on the Fuselage (That would make sense I would think ) Great place.

Has anything been done with the static fuse that went to Canada yet – that was a couple of months ago and I didn’t hear that it had arrived yet !!!

    Hi all

Amongst the airworthy restorations here in Australia is a Huey Cobra gunship owned by HARS and under active rebuild – Had cause once to be very grateful these things existed – Choppers are fine with me – just not a lot of them in WW11

    EN 830

The endless Mig 31 v F22 or Mirage 2000 V Typhoon type threads I see when passing the MM forum. What is the point ?????????????????????????????? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Couldn’t agree more – Put them all in one each and let them fight it out I say and put the rest of us out of their misery!!!

    Hi – Re Duxford

I guess someday they will come up with the cash and build more accomodation – they do a great job for all my reservations about architecture and ambieance and I hope they keep going in this way in the future – I could never have guessed at the progress and expansion there in the past – It is not that long since there was no dough for any sort of Aviation Museum expansion any where – I think we all forget that in the light of the more trivial argument over asthetics . Me included .

    Rlangham

Any idea where the Mew Gull will be put? Last time i went, Hendon was pretty packed out and theres no area she could go as each area has a theme. Cosford possibly, although don’t know where she’d go either as the hangars should be pretty well packed after the cold war exhibition is finished and they bring the other planes inside

    .

Isn’t it nice to be talking about expansion at Cosford – great to see the new (Ugly though) accomodation going in – The big aircraft are always vulnerable – look at Duxford – I just hope they get more accomodation in time to save all the stuff outside.

    Hi All

A lovely job and it doesn’t matter where it goes it adds to the historic wealth of aviation in the UK which is important .

Why Static – I think it’s sad to go to all this trouble and just do it as a static aircraft – A bit like Point Cooks Se5A and AVRO 504 – Very nice but they could have been flown with just a little more effort.

    Hi Dave
