Hi All
As an aquaintance of Mr Duck let me just say a few things.
Oscar is an extreamly experianced professional in many fields of Aviation including ATC and safety and has worked long and hard to keep people safe.
I have seen many displays by Oscar for many years in his various aircraft including B25, Harvard, T28, O1, O2 and TBM – His displays are energetic but safe and he keeps within the capabilities of himself and the aircraft – nobody would leave without getting their monies worth.
I for one enjoy the fact that he participates in airshows and his fantistic contribution to the movement as a whole. There are not many people around who have a trans Pacific B25 flight in their logs etc. He was there when Warbirds were getting started in this country and is the reason – with others- that they continue to blossom in rising numbers and attract new players.
I think it would do a lot of people a lot of good to engage their brains and do a little research before letting fly when someone like OD gives them some good – well meant advice.

Can you categorically state that no money at any stage was donated / granted to the Vulcan that would not / should not have gone to any other good cause restoration anywhere in the UK had the Vulcan not been mooted.
Is the scale and magnitude of this just a little over the top
I support any good cause in aviation and all the above said I will be there to watch her – she has my 20 quid as well – but is it really a good idea?
I was struck by this two months ago standing in the Brighton Pavillion – another Magnificant Obsession funded by the British taxpayer one way or another – Magnificant but couldn’t the money have been spent better elsewhere – there are no right answers but questions are healthy.

All Tapped out James – $500 to the Lincoln – has everybody else given ? Makes more sense than the Vulcan to me.

Hi Oscar – didn’t like that one Huh ?
How about
The Flying Ducksman Collection ?
JP
Hi Guys
Well It will be great if/when it flies but…………..
Just consider for a moment the total outlay to get/restore/operate this aircraft. Much of it coming from the public/government etc. Now apply that money to lots of smaller restorations going on around the UK.
Good luck to these guys for doing what is being done – just so long as it doesn’t divert money from current and future worthwhile projects – there is just so much disposable income to go around for old aircraft and I have a feeling this project may well have bitten heavily into that money – for what is at the end of the day a fairly short lived program and it is only one aircraft.
Just my thoughts

Hi All
If you read the posts here and on other threads there is no doubt that progress is being made accross the board on all the TFC aircraft – it is just that some get finished before others and as one nears the end the effort naturally gravitates to that aircraft – it doesn’t mean the others stop.
