Mate Stealing aircraft is never easy unless you are an Australian – except in the UK where they only fly them once a year to show off for their mates at a certain airshow – so nobody notices they have gone for six months, but the manacles don’t seem to be a real problem. It’s the loo breaks where they can be a bit of a bugger!

Yes Robbo
But it’s a pretty big cottage with about 40 aircraft “in work’ at the site or in the que it will go on for a long time – Still it is fantastic and the best bit is they ENCOURAGE people to wander round and watch it all happening – a lesson to be learned there I would think for others – thats how we get new people involved.

True but I think there may well be a black hole linking OW and Wangarratta. Wang could never be described as anything but ugly but magic happens there the same as OW – just different magic.

Now everyone
Please rember that James lives in Melbourne and that is the one city in the world where they have mastered the trick of having 4 seasons in one day so James will be freezing , sweltering, running from the rain and avoiding hail at any given time of day- serves him right – I did try to tell him.

Well if a Mossie is in good nick I think it should be preserved as is. If on the other hand it is that deteroiated as was Jerry Yeagans project under restoration in NZ then this is probably the best fate for it – to be restored to fly again. It would be really handy knowing some more about the condition of the airframe befor e we all fire off on a tangent !!

Come on – can’t you take solid intense grilling on matters of great importance- the public wants to know – will it beat leg ends!!!

Hi Dave
Clear as mud mate but I understand your position – I won’t take the wind out of CW’s sails though – just to say I think we both have the same info here and we both hope the deals are done .

And the Centaurus was alos used from memory on the Beverly so it must have proven reliable in that instance over long ranges/hours – any coments from resident experts on that?

TNZ
The Centaurus has a REPUTATION for being a bit unreliable and there is a spares shortage which doesn’t help but in truth I think it is fine given proper maintaince and operational perameters being followed. In the US they have the ability to use the reliable and slightly more available 3350 Yank Tank engine which is relatively cheaper than overhauling a Centaurus and the expertise is there wheras the Centaurus is a real odd bod engine in the US and nobody wants to know much about it.
My opinion

Hi Melve
Will it be at legends next year

Turbo
And thanks very much for your Sea Fury – I try to catch up with it here at Archerfield once or twice a month and very nice she is too and no major trouble with the donk since she got here years back – it seems to fly a lot and over long distances which may be the secret to keeping the engine in good condition? – we will soon have 3 or 4 Centaurus powered airworthy machines flying here which is probably the most anywhere – I wish the RANFAAM one would get going to add to the mix but I think they are still busy tryng to get/decide to get the Firefly going again
DAVES or TurboNZ – Sea Fury?
Hi
I forgot earlier
Whilst in Blighty recently I heard more stories about a Sea Fury going to NZ again I hope this one is true as I think it would be good for you guys to have one again – anybody over there heard about it – There was a previous rummor last year but the money didn’t work out apparently.
