619,
Not sure where you are based but we at Bottisham Airfield museum might be interested – depending on what the instruments are.
Many thanks

My first thought was P-47 Thunderbolt but looks more like Stearman – would love to give it a good home if it is P-47 as we had them at Bottisham and plan to build a cockpit section soon.

Ozplane,
We announce our new opening dates just after Christmas and they will be added to our website and social media sites. We are listed on google as being being open both in Maps and businesses – unfortunately the Old Smokery (the previous occupants) are listed as closed which sometimes gives the impression the site is closed – trying to get their listing removed is proving difficult. Appreciate the advice.
Cheers
J
If you can spare 2 minutes it would be greatly appreciated if you could fill out the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/bottishamairfieldmuseum
At the moment we have 220 responses – HLF are sceptical regarding the viability of WW2 themed museums and realistically we are going to have to make an overwhelmingly strong case for our bid to proceed which means we need in excess of 500 responses. I know this forum has a fair few members so please please fill it in.
Alan, good suggestion I will speak to our web person and see what can be done – will also have a look at Facebook etc.
Many thanks

Hi Colin,
I haven’t had time to check the dates but any chance he would have come through Bottisham when he was with 2 Squadron?
Thanks
Jason
Hi,
It sounds likely that Trevor Mitchell may have come through Bottisham. If anyone has any information that could confirm this I would very much appreciate it. We would love to put a display together at Bottisham dedicated to the men of the RAF who flew the early Mustangs and if any of Trevor’s family have any artefacts regarding this period of his career they may consider loaning or donating to the museum it would be of great help to us in telling the story of these brave men.
Many thanks

We at the Bottisham Airfield Museum are on the hunt for an F24 as they were extensively used at Bottisham.
Any leads greatly appreciated.
