!!!!! Do you honestly think they could operate all those flight with 1 767???!!!
Think about it.
Also Billund is a new destination for Ryanair. So MAD and BLL are exclusive to DUB on the FR network. Rumour has it that DUB-HUY will dropped.
When I saw new routes I was expecting INV to be in there.
You have missed that they have also announced LBA-KRK!!!
Yes good news for both Jet2 and Milan but the Ryanair stlye press releases are tacky.
It is a pity but at the end of the day its business. As Emirates continue to grow their European and GF have added DUB everybody will of course have felt the pinch.
I wonder what OS will do with the extra capacity as stopping OZ service frees up alot of aircraft and time.
Am I correct in saying I heard a rumour that they were dropping 1/2 of their A340s?
Your right ”apparently” it doesnt apply to charter flights yet when EI operated DUB-MCO which they operated as a charter it stopped in SNN and now that MON are operating a once weekly DUB-SFB it returns to DUB via SNN.
We have our fingers crossed over here that the goverment is going to announce that they are going to cut the emphasis on SNN so that for every 3 nonstop TX flights from DUB you must operate 1 to SNN.
The same applies with Canada only thats alot more complicated but at the moment AC and TSC operate via SNN.
If you have ever wondered why EI operate to so few US cities its because the air agreement states that they may only operate to LAX,JFK,EWR,ORD and BOS. MCO was operated as a charter and BWI was able to operate because of some route development fund. However US carriers may operate from any city in the US to DUB and SNN. We are also praying that the goverment here are going to negotiate a new agreement which will allow EI access to more citys stateside with SFO,PHL and DFW the hot favourites.
FCA arnt the only charter airline with delays today the CUB-DUB flight was also delayed 6 hours which will have a knockon delay when the aircraftpositions back to the UK Im sure!
AA have announced that they will be dropping their BOS-SNN service this winter due to awful loads but willcontinue their DUB-ORD service unfortunatley with the Ireland/US bilateral air aggrement the way it is it meens the ORD-DUB service now has to route ORD-DUB-SNN-ORD. I wish SNN would just go away.
The press release is very Ryanair like. Alitalia are also pulling out of DUB with FCO dropped last year and now MXP bites the dust.
I flew an Iberia 727 from BCN to DUB back in 2000. I wasnt hugely interested in aviation back them but I do remember it vividly espeically as it was in business class. It was a nice ride.
Ahhhh I remember that day. I was working in the baggage hall that day but for Servisair and Sky handling were the ones handling your flight. I seem to remember them telling us afterwards that they had been told that it was to hot on the ramp in LCY for bags to be loaded. I for one have never heard that excuse but maybe they meant as mentioned above it was to hot for the aircraft to take off with all the bags onboard.
We had a similar problem with BE and their 146 a few weeks ago when they had to offload quite alot of bags.
As for compensation the answer is no by law they dont have do as you got the bags back however it would be a nice good will gesture to give you a few € off a return fare to LCY or CDG.
I hope he doesnt say FlyBE!!!
LOL they are having a great day compared to Eirjet here in DUB.
Today Eirjet have had 3 flight delayed by a total of 56 hours combined as well as another 4-5 delayed 6-7 hours and then the rest are 1-2 hours behind.
Would it annoy you al lif I told you that about and hour after you left a Qatar A340 paid us a visit.
Happens to EI all the time their A330s are really over the hill and arnt to reliable espeically when you squeeze European flights between long hauls ones.
