Well from working countless nights in DUB this is what is normally on the ground.
BMI-A321-There are 2 on a friday
Lufthansa-737-Will be an A319 in the summer
Malev-738/73G/736 or F70 it varies
CSA Czech-737-400 every night except saturday
LOT-Embraer 170
CityJet/Air France usualy 3 BAe 146s although can vary
Aer Arann usualy have 1 or 2 as most aircraft flying early morning flights from regional Irish airports that arrive into DUB at about 7am
Ryanir have 6/7 based 737-800s in DUB at the moment but again have early arrival between 0700-0730 from STN,LPL,PIK and EMA
Aer Lingus have about 20 overnights as the other A320/321 sleep in LHR,AMS,SNN and ORK.
Then you have the charter aircraft which usually sit idle from monday until thursday when they restart. At the moment there is usually a ZB 757 and an Eirjet A320 but it mighnt be in Eirjet colours as they lease equipment from all over the place.
Same story in DUB EI and LH flights cancelled yesterday and the mess is being cleared up today. The afternoon LH flight seemed to have a huge amount of bags missing. Its days like this that make me glad we dont handle the like of LH and BD the hoards of summer charters will be back soon and then Im in for it.
Ye those FR 738s in new colours do look awesome with winglets but still not a patch on Globespan what a beauty.
Ive never been to SNN with te intention of spotting but with the airport being a huge maintenace hub you can get some great traffic. FR have a base their now so its not as quite as it used to be and it has all the transatlantic flights DUB has so it can be good if you patient.
Im certainly not going to drive down and unfortunatley EI only operate 4 flights a day whic all depart really early but Im sure a trip down on an A330 and a normal bus back must be worth while.
Ohhhh another Irish member. We are beginning to takeover now away with you pansies from across the water.
All very good reminds me of somthing I read in the pap er this week.
On Aer Lingus flight EI432 DUB-VCE an Italian announcement was made to using the prerecorded thingy and it said ”Ladies and Gentle we are about to crash land please take the brace position” The cabin crew and Irish passengers had no idea what was after happening and were quite amused by a group load of panicing Italians.
Ye the DUB flight stopped in LPA and somtimes PMI. Right now our CPT service is direct using a LTU A330.
KLM operated some chaters from DUB to CPT a few years ago using a 767 so I dont thnk range is a problem
FCA A320 flew CVT-DUB yesterday and DUB-CVT today so most likely someone chartered it out for the day.
Well I want you all to bear somthing in mind. When the 3 of us were talking about it we came to the conclusion that we will be doing mroe than planespotting. So we want to go somewhere were the beer is cheap and we can have a good time when it turns dark. Now my idea of a good time is good food, drink and a good conversation.
Dont Formula 1 cars use carbon brakes???? If so those things are prone to explode when they get to a certain temperature. Although Im sure they would be checked and replaced regulary.
Well I cant tal to much about NW but Dela are definitley struggling. There are consistently cancelling their DUB-ATL flights because loads are as low as 3 passengers some days at the moment.
I reliase its quite season at the moment but 3 is reidicolous. They are just cancelling flights and combing 2/3 flights ad operating it on certain days.
Hopfully things will pick up for the summer when they restart DUB-JFK.
If you flying LHR-YYC you shouldnt have a problem. However if your flying LHR-YYZ-YYC back some extar cloths because baggage transfers through YYZ are a nightmare.
Ive never flown them but handle AC in work and I know all about AC and delayed baggage.
Hmmmm this is strange. Eirjet have an absolutley packed charter programme out of Dublin on saturday and sunday. They have 3 A320s in their fleet and I have just come from work were we handle EJ. In the last hour they have had 3 flights arrive into DUB 2 from Plovdiv and 1 from Bergamo which are being operated by aircraft from various carriers like Transavia, Flyjet and Eagle Aviation I think.
So basically EJ are leasing out their own aircraft and leasing others in for their own work!!!! Does that make sense????
Ye I like the scheme and I think that little bit of orange on the engine leaves you dying for little bt more of it.
They seem to be doing really well in DUB with 3 weekly flights to KTW and WRO with GDN and Lodz (I dont know the code) starting next month.
They use mainly 737-400s into DUB but when they give troulbe they use Slovak 737s which are nice to see.
